Koinonia
Seniors attended Koinonia held at Saint Raphaela Center in Haverford. Students led by adult and student leaders had the opportunity to grow in relationship with Christ, as well as their classmates. Welcome Back!


Broadcast Journalism
The Broadcast Journalism video production team was on-location recording a  Thanksgiving themed segment for the next episode of  "Panther Tales"!  Director Cara Hughes and Videographer Maddie Lee discuss script details with Continuity Supervisor Melissa Olimpo, while hosts Casey Remolde and Kelsey Joyce consider their next "take".


Poetry Contest
On November 14, five students of Saint Basil Academy participated in the poetry recitation contest honoring Lesya Ukrainka (1871-1913).  The contest was organized and sponsored by the Saint Sophia Religious Association of Ukrainian Catholics, Inc., in Philadelphia.  The contestants were: 
Anastasiya Bloshchynska - first place,  Emily Soares - second place,  Alexandra Bethman - runner up,  Maria Storck - participant, and  Alexis Naumenko - participant.  All contestants were awarded commemorative certificates and gifts. The main sponsor of the event presented the winners with prizes. This is the second poetry recital contest organized by the Saint Sophia Association for the students of the Saint Basil Academy.  
AP Biology
Ms. McLaughlin's AP Bio class experimented with bubbles to understand cell membrane fluidity.
   
Theology
While studying Saint Basil the Great, Theology I students completed various types of p ro jects, some of which were designing their own hypothetical religious communities, researching  Doctors of the Church, and studying the last words of different saints.

Fall Drama
The  Drama Club performances of Me, My Selfie and I and Twelve Angry Women on Friday, 11/16 and Saturday, 11/17 were a success and we thank our audiences for their support of SBA Drama.
                          
 
Union League
Students from Saint Basil Academy attended a lecture given by Jonah Goldberg as a part of the Liberty Series. Students were the guests of the Abraham Lincoln Foundation of the Union League. Mr. Goldberg is the author of the bestselling book, "Suicide of the West." He also holds the Asness Chair of Applied Liberty at the American Enterprise Institute and is a Senior Editor at National Review and a Fellow of the National Review Institute.
