...Treating Body & Soul in Jesus' Name

On Saturday, July 27th, a team of 24 CPI mission travelers returned from serving the Lord with the ministry's church partners in northern Belize.

In five clinic days, almost 700 patients were treated. Many of those patients were able to visit the dental station, as two dentists were team members, as well as three staff members from Gamber Family Dentistry in Kettering, Ohio. For many of the patients, it was their first opportunity to visit a dentist!

The CPI team split their clinic time between two churches in Orange Walk District, one in Orange Walk Town, the other in a neighboring suburb. The clinic caused such a buzz among the local population that the District television station visited Pastor Prakash's church, interviewing the Pastor and several team members.

Many amazing testimonies were witnessed by the team, including an interaction between CPI team member Paul Leland and a local tour guide named Elvis. Initially, Elvis stopped by the clinic to share some of his Belizean tour information with the CPI team. But he and Paul began to talk, and Paul encouraged him to register himself as a patient. As Elvis made his way through the clinic, he engaged the doctors and nurses in lively conversation, even visiting the dental station for a much-needed tooth extraction. Paul was escorting patients to & from the final station of the CPI clinic, the "Clinic of the Soul", and took a few moments to sit down and talk to Elvis following his time with the dentist. As Paul talked to Elvis about his spiritual condition, and shared the life-changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with him, Elvis began to tear up, crushed by the realization of his own sin, and recounting some painful events in his life. By God's grace, Elvis gave his life to Jesus Christ!

The next day, the CPI team moved on to their second church-based clinic site, but Elvis tracked the team down. His demeanor had changed completely - his "business persona" was gone, and he possessed a calm & grateful demeanor. He sought out the team and Paul in order to bring gifts, and to thank each team member personally. The joy of his salvation was clearly evident on his face - clearly, a new creature in Christ!

All toll, 170 men, women & children made a profession of faith in Christ during CPI's time of service in Belize. To God be the glory - great things He has done!
