East Conference Championship
Haley Gassel
of Lenoir City, TN, was all smiles after winning the
$50,000 Hollow Brook Wealth Management Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series Championship Final
at the National Horse Show in Lexington, KY. Gassel and her mount
Quite Dark 2
produced a beautiful jump-off round over the 1.40m course, topping a field of 28 entries that were a combination of Amateur-Owner and Junior Jumper riders.
"Honestly I'm in a bit of shock because when you look at the entire field, it's a star-studded lineup and every single person here could win this championship," said a delighted Gassel after her win. "I'm incredibly honored and excited, not only to be here, but to win this championship for this series."
Gassel was honored as the "
Hollow Brook Wealth Management Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month" in August after her impressive results.

Natalie Dean and Don's Diamant
|
Natalie Dean of Palo Alto, CA, who rode two horses in the Final, posted the only clear round in the competition aboard her second horse,
Don's Diamant,
to clinch the
$10,000 Show Jumping Hall Of Fame Jumper Classic Series West Coast Championship
at the Las Vegas National Horse Show in Las Vegas, NV.
Although Dean picked up faults on her first horse
Chacco's Goldy,
she didn't let that get to her when she entered the ring as the last competitor to tackle the 1.40m course designed by Anthony D'Ambrosio that included 11 obstacles and 14 jumping efforts.
"I didn't have a strategy other than to go clear," said Dean who only started riding the 10 year-old stallion
Don's Diamant
at the beginning of this year. "It helped to have jumped the course earlier with my first horse, but we stuck to our plan and it paid off. This was an extra special win for me.
"He [Don] is a dream and he's not like a stallion at all. He's so scopey, so careful, and so brave. He's the best," added Dean.
Emma Waldfogel, also of Palo Alto, CA, took second place aboard
Chief
, while Katie Murray of Anaheim, CA, and
Calgot's Hero
finished third.
