Open House is scheduled for January 26! We encourage all current and prospective families to attend this showcase event! Please encourage any family member, friend, co-worker, etc. who may be interested in Guardian Angels School to also attend.

Details for re-enrollment for all current students will be sent to all current families by January 17. Please look forward to this communication to be sent through an all school email. As we begin the re-enrollment process at Guardian Angels, I strongly encourage families to apply for tuition assistance through the Catholic Education Foundation. This needs-based scholarship was a major piece to the One Faith, One Hope, One Love campaign from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. This year, 2 million dollars will be distributed to families of elementary school students for the 2020-2021 school year. To learn more and apply, please go onlineAll families who plan to apply for financial assistance from Guardian Angels must first apply for assistance from this source. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2020. Last year, over $20,000 was given to Guardian Angels families from the Catholic Education Foundation Tuition Assistance Fund.

Finally, I strongly encourage any current family who has not re-enrolled or registered for preschool or pre-k to do so this week! We will open registration up to non school/parish families by January 26 and all spots will fill!

I look forward to seeing community members throughout all these exciting events and activities!

God Bless,

Corey Stoops

Open House & Catholic Schools Week

The Guardian Angels School Open House is scheduled for Sunday, January 26th  from 1:00-3:00pm. This is a great opportunity to meet other GA families and teachers, talk with administrators and help us kick off Catholic Schools Week.

You can help us spread the word about Open House by sharing our Facebook event . We also have yard signs in the Gathering Space available to be picked up after all Masses this weekend. The signs are great way to advertise our Open House.

Open House kicks off Catholic Schools Week. For a complete list of the week's events at Guardian Angels School, click here.
K-5 Art Show is January 25 & 26

It’s only a few weeks until our wonderful K-5 Art Show, proudly held during Catholic Schools Week. Please mark your calendar now to attend and view your child’s two projects. The Art Show will be held in the Undercroft/Cafeteria on Saturday January 25th from 4:30-6:15pm and on Sunday January 26th between 9:00-3:00pm. On Monday, we’re excited to show off our works of art to our grandparents during their morning school visit!

Mrs. Pavely and students can use your help setting up and/or taking down the art show. Volunteers are needed on Friday, January 24th and Monday January 27th from 1:00-3:00pm. We also need volunteers during GA Catholic School Week Open House to help with purchased artwork. Even an hour of your time is very much appreciated! Please email Mrs. Pavely if you are able to help.
Preschool Registration Open for GA School & Parish Families

Preschool and pre-kindergarten registration and re-enrollment is now open to current Guardian Angels School and Parish families. We absolutely expect all preschool and pre-kindergarten classes to fill again this year. Current GA school and parish families have first priority in registering and re-enrolling but we recommend completing the process as soon as possible to ensure a spot. Last year our preschool and pre-k classes filled very quickly. There are only a few spots available for pre-k as most students currently in preschool will be moving up to pre-k for the 20-21 school year. If there are spots available after this early enrollment period, we will open registration up to the community at our school Open House event on January 26th. At that point, spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Registration materials for new students are available on the preschool page of the school website. Re-enrollment information was shared with current families individually.
Save the Date: Father-Daughter Dance

The Father-Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday February 29th in the Undercroft. More details and theme will be announced in early 2020. Look forward to another fun event for our daughters and dads!

Cookie Ministry
Guardian Angels School Cookie Ministry teams up with the Parish Parish Peanut Butter group to feed families in need. The Peanut Butter group makes 1,500 peanut butter and bologna sandwiches. GA students donate cookies. St. Francis Seraph Church in Over-the-Rhine gives the food to families in need. Students are asked to bring in two dozen cookies, brownies, or rice krispie bars on their classroom's designated day. They do need to be bagged, two treats per bag. All 1st grade classes are responsible for the next donation on Monday, January 13th . A  complete schedule  for the school year is attached
Spirit Wear
PTA is offering a new spirit wear option this year. Just go to the online shopping site and choose what you like. There are many different options available. If you need to check sizes, stop in to U Sports on Five Mile Rd. Orders placed online are typically ready for pickup in the store within 10 days.
Parents Service Hour Challenge
The PTA is encouraging every parent to give a minimum of two hours of service to the School or Parish. Any GA school parent who submits the attached form no later than May 1, 2020 with over 25 hours of service documented will be entered into a drawing for one free in-parish tuition for the 2020-2021 school year. The winner must also be in good standing with VIRTUS. Examples of service opportunities and a list of the official rules for the challenge are listed on the PTA section of the website .

The scholarship prize is sponsored by PTA, Music Boosters & Athletic Boosters.
The winning family will be announced prior to the end of the school year.
Family Rosary
Join us for Family Rosary and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every Thursday beginning at 3:00pm in Church. Check the schedule to see when your child’s class is signed up to lead! Feel free to sign your family up to fill in any dates not taken. Please sign-up here.
Box Tops Goes Digital This Year
Box Tops is going digital! The Guardian Angels PTA collects Box Tops and uses the funds earned to purchase indoor recess games and outdoor recess equipment. This year, Box Tops is switching to a digital platform. To participate, you’ll need to download the Box Tops App. No more cutting labels off boxes! Instead, you’ll go into the Box Tops app and just scan your grocery receipt within 14 days of purchase. You’ll find more information attached . You can also watch a quick video showing how the new digital platform works here.

Currently, you can still find old Box Tops labels on some products. GA students can still submit those paper Box Tops to their homeroom teachers and parishioners can drop them off in the special collection envelope located on the bulletin board in the Church Gathering Space. Those labels will be picked up again on March 1st . These physical labels are being phased out though so at some point the digital option will be the only way to submit Box Tops.
Kroger Community Rewards
Have you signed up for Kroger Community Rewards and designated GA as your beneficiary? The more families who register, the more money our school receives through the program. Kroger Community Rewards offers a great way for you to support our school's technology fund...and you don't have to spend a penny. You can search for GA or use our NPO number, 80200. The amount Guardian Angels receives depends on the points our supporters rack up while grocery shopping.
Amazon Shopping Supports GA
During the holiday shopping season, remember you can now support Guardian Angels Parish when you shop at Amazon.com! GA is a participant in the AmazonSmile Program. You can  sign-up  to have a portion of your purchase sales come back to Guardian Angels. When you make purchases through the AmazonSmile page, and have GA selected as your beneficiary, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products back to GA.  You have to be shopping from smile.amazon.com page of the site for GA to receive the benefit.
