The Children's Trust Parent Club - Opportunity for On-Site Family Engagement Activity *
The Children’s Trust has partnered with local parenting experts and Miami Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) to offer
FREE countywide workshops on relevant parenting topics. The 90-minute workshops are offered in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. Free childcare is provided for children 3-12 years old and parents have a chance to participate in a raffle at the end of the session.
For those providers with contracts that require a parent-engagement activity, hosting a workshop counts toward this requirement.

2020 Miami International Child & Adolescent Mental Health Conference
The Children’s Trust is once again sponsoring registrations to the 2020 Miami International Child & Adolescent Mental Health (MICAMH) Conference, taking place Feb. 5-7, 2020 at the FIU Kovens Conference Center. Presented by the FIU Center for Children and Families, the MICAMH Conference is the leading interdisciplinary conference that brings together more than 500 professionals each year to present state-of-the-art, evidence-based prevention and treatment interventions for mental health and educational problems in children and adolescents.

Grief Support Services Available (ages 5 and up)
Twenty-five percent of children will experience the death of a significant loved one by high school graduation, and for 1 in 5, their loss will be a parent. After a loss, children and teens are vulnerable to suffer symptoms such as suicidal thoughts, social isolation, strained peer interaction, physical complaints, sleep disturbances/nightmares, and school difficulties.
Children’s Bereavement Center (CBC) provides free grief support groups for children, teens, and adults after the loss of a loved one.
- Groups meet weekly and are completely FREE for the entire family
- Groups are available for all ages – lower elementary, upper elementary, middle school, high school and adults
- A FREE pizza dinner is provided
- Groups are facilitated by Masters-level mental health professionals
- Children’s groups include art and music
- Open to anyone who has suffered a loss as a result of illness, accident, suicide or homicide
