BPI Gallery Artists Return
Building off of the success last year with the BPI Gallery Artist Talks, the art department will continue with monthly professional art shows in the BPI gallery, culminating with each showing artist giving an artist talk to the Poly community. Last year the shows featured artists from Chicago, DC, Baltimore, Florida, New York, and China! Each of the artist talks had between 90-150 students attend! This year Poly will continue to show exemplary, renowned artists from across the country. Please click here to see the full schedule. We hope to see you there!
Alumni Directory Update
Thank you to all who participated in the alumni directory! This valuable resource will be mailed to those who purchased it in early November. Thank you for your patience and continued support of this project.
Poly Archives Offer Wonderful Memories
Nothing sparks a trip down memory lane quite like a yearbook, photo, or note from your school days. Members of the class of '57 brought this senior prom booklet (pictured) to their latest reunion and relived the laughter and magic of that evening that took place (just a few) years ago. The Poly archives room is a beautiful showcase of photographs, yearbooks, letterman jackets, awards, school newspapers and endless memorabilia from the 1800’s through this past decade. If you would like to view the Poly Archives Room or would like to donate items, please contact the Foundation and Alumni Office at 410-889-7659 or alumni@bpi.edu .
Alumni Corner: Harvey Barnsley Kershaw, Jr. '34
Harvey Barnsley Kershaw, Jr. graduated from The Baltimore Polytechnic Institute Advanced College Preparatory Course in 1934. Mr. Kershaw's years at Poly made him keenly aware of technology, which led his career through banking services. He eventually rose from teller to Chairman during his nearly half century with Provident Bank.

As the bank's president, Mr. Kershaw made it a point to answer all his phone calls personally. He also believed that the banks customers, whom he described as hard-working Baltimoreans, liked to have their savings noted in a passbook. "He never forgot the effects of the depression" said Mr. Kershaw's son Robert Barnsley Kershaw, a Baltimore County attorney.
