Happy Thanksgiving!
MAKE AN IMPACT for Ballard High School

Ballard High School PTSA Direct Appeal donations go to the BHS PTSA General Fund. where we try to use your dollar wisely. We think we do OK!

Most of the time, we talk about how dollars raised in Ballard High School PTSA Direct Appeal fund grants. But Direct Appeal dollars go to the PTSA General Fund, which fund many other things.

A few of the examples of program support items in our budget that Direct Appeal helps fund:
And here are some operational costs:
  • $2,000 for costs associated with Communications (website, email, etc.)
  • $1,000 for Family and Community Engagement
  • $1,600 for Printing and Postage
  • We even have $1,000 allocated to Teacher Appreciation, where we set up a monthly appreciation lunch or other treat for Ballard High School staff
You can bet we'll continue to disperse money wisely and with a great deal of thought. Donate today!  Read more about Direct Appeal  HERE

LIBRARY NEWS
The Ballard High School Library was a hub of activity this week as we hosted the Seattle Public School's Taste of Making Makerspace Expo. We partnered with Pacific Science Center, Seattle Public Library, and Seattle School District librarians to create an incredible event of tinkering, inventing, and making as staff members were taught different ways to show evidence of learning by Ballard High School's computer science students. The students at each station taught creative problem-solving in collaborative environments and every person who left that day was dazzled by the self-directed learning and thoughtfulness of our students.
