ECONOMIC GROWTH IN MARYLAND: A DISCUSSION ON THE STATE'S BUSINESS CLIMATE

The Maryland Public Policy Institute and the University of Baltimore's Jacob France Institute have partnered to bring back the Maryland Business Climate Survey. This Pilot Survey, conducted at the close of 2017 and start of 2018, is the first in what is a quarterly survey on the performance of the state's economy and business perceptions on Maryland as a place to do business. The goal of the survey is to provide timely data on the performance and direction of the state's economy. 

Join us for a discussion of the survey and the potential opportunities represented by it's results.

Howard County Chamber set to take Inaugural Intercity Visit


The Howard County Chamber is planning to embark upon an Intercity Leadership Visit in 2019.
 In spearheading an intercity visit, the Howard County Chamber will take approximately 20-30 business and civic leaders alongside County Executive Calvin Ball and elected and appointed officials to Somerset County, New Jersey.
The dates will be September 15-17.
You will learn and study best practices in economic and community development, flood mitigation, and environmental stewardship.

Congratulations to Chamber member Sparksoft for being awarded HETS Independent Testing Contractor task in support of CMS
  Sparksoft has been awarded a 5- year task to provide independent validation of software and system components by identifying defects, integration and performance issues, and verifying that the software meets user and system requirements. The task was competed using SPARC. 





Clark Construction: Strategic Partnership Program 

Clark Construction's Strategic Partnership Program is a 10-month program that is offered at no cost to small and disadvantaged businesses. Classes begin in September, are typically held Wednesday evenings, and are taught by a team of seasoned Clark professionals and outside guest lecturers. From bidding and bonding to estimating, scheduling, and project management, the program delivers the technical training and professional development that small businesses need to realize their business objectives and confidently compete for new opportunities.
