This workshop is required of all teams applying for our 2020 HCC Business Plan Competition. 

In addition to being offered at HCC Southeast on 1/14, it will also be offered at  HCC West Loop on 1/25  and  HCC Alief Hayes on 2/1  for your convenience in choosing a date and location that works best for you.
Plan now to understand the numbers that create success for your business. This workshop prepares you for the “why, how and what’s next” when it comes to understanding your past, knowing where you stand now and what you need to do to analyze and estimate the numbers you and your investors/ lenders need to know to back you and propel you to sustainable success.

Join our Teen Biz Camp Spring Session!

Orientation:
January 18th from 3:00- 4:30 pm @Galleria Mall
January 21st from 7:00- 8:30 pm @HCC Southeast Campus

The Teen Biz Camp powered by Target Evolution Inc, is a small business program for teens ages 12-19, and currently the #1 After-School & Summer Youth Entrepreneurship Program in Texas. We are currently enrolling for our Spring Teen Biz Camp Session and we have two orientations scheduled for January 2020.

Target Evolution is a 501(c)3 educational nonprofit established in 2011, which hosts Teen Biz Camps in four Texas cities including Houston and Dallas, and has had over 500 students. The organization is in partnership with Houston Community College and The Pop Up Shop @ Galleria Mall.

The Teen Biz Pop-Up Shop is a new extension of our Teen Biz Camp program, and invite youth to examine the many facets of starting and operating a small retail business. We provide teens with a real-world & upscale retail work experience AND opportunities to earn money with their own business! Teens create a real business and launch, sell, and validate their products or services in a high traffic retail environment gaining hands-on experience improving soft skills, networking, financial literacy, and communication. Teens who complete the Teen Biz Camp program now get up to 6 college credit hours at Houston Community College!

During the orientation, we will explain how the entire program works and parents will sign permission forms to officially enroll teens and get started.

STEM students can earn 
a stipend of up to $2500 this Spring Semester!

The National Science Foundation Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) -Harris County Community College Alliance (HCCCA) Grant provides current HCC students 
preparing to transfer into a four-year STEM program, 
the opportunity to earn a stipend 
of up to $2500 during the Spring 2020 semester 
and to become eligible for an additional $4300 stipend 
for summer research programs. 

This "Community of Scholars" stipend 
will be available based on several criteria. 
Applicants can apply for any or all stipend activities 
and will be able to prioritize which of the following activities they are most interested in participating.
The HCC Entrepreneurship Club is created to assist students enrolled at HCC to provide a conduit by which students can access relevant entrepreneurial resources, network with prominent community entrepreneurs, and share ideas. 

Students will engage in discussion with other student clubs of similar interests, and collaborate and brainstorm together, as well as get feedback on business workshops, speaking engagements, seminars, competitions/hackathons and other related activities. 

The Entrepreneurship club is dedicated to furthering understanding about new or small businesses, and learn the tactics, tips, and skills to become an entrepreneur, and/or learn an entrepreneurial mindset.

Requirements:
  • Open to any student who is currently enrolled at HCC.
  • Must be enrolled in (2) or more classes.
