#GivingTuesday is almost here and we need your help!

We can sum up our goal in one word: FENCES.

Thanks to Hurricane Michael earlier this year, we need to fix more than 5,000 feet of fencing as quickly as possible.

Why? One more word: MUNDI!

We need to raise $64,000 to cover the cost of cutting up and removing fallen trees and re-stretching, repairing and replacing damaged fencing. Every dollar raised brings Mundi one step closer to her new elephant paradise.

This year, Facebook is partnering with PayPal to match donations to a total of up to $7 million and we want those matching dollars! Starting at 8 am EST on November 27, Facebook and Paypal will match donations and continue matching until the match runs out.

What you can do: Starting at 8 am EST on Tuesday, November 27, visit EAI's Facebook page and donate!
  • Donate $25 or more and receive a private on-line viewing of "Unchained", the multi-award winning documentary which follows the work of Carol Buckley, Founder of Elephant Aid International (EAI), and her team working to enhance elephant welfare in Nepal. Carol shows by gentle persuasion and example that there is a 'better way' to treat elephants living in captive-held environments.
  • Donate $50 or more and receive a beautiful handmade celadon elephant mug made in the mountains of Northern Thailand. (While Supplies Last)
  • Donate or raise $5,000 or more and you will be invited along with one guest to a private "Welcome Home Party for Mundi" after she arrives at ERNA.
Also on November 27 you can create a Facebook fundraiser and share it with your friends. It's easy and we all know there's strength in numbers. So click the following link and increase your impact!

Assessing ERNA Fence Damage

Our friends at Summerhill Creative took drone footage of ERNA's fences to help us assess the damage caused by Hurricane Michael. The bad news: The footage confirms our initial estimate that 5,000 feet of perimeter fencing needs repairs. The good news: The elephant fence cables held tight and only a few poles were damaged!

Mundi's Move Explained

Carol describes how to move Mundi

Preparing Mundi for her move to ERNA will involve careful coordination and learning how she copes with change. EAI Founder and CEO Carol Buckley explains the process of acclimating Mundi to her crate as part of a new documentary produced by Mark Sweeney, a film student at Savannah College of Art and Design.
