Bucking Vermont trends of young adults leaving the state, Pauline Stevens is returning to run the farm. With a passion for plants, learning about soils, and engaging in superior customer service through extensive knowledge gained growing up as the child of Judy and Will Stevens, Pauline is excited about her role as the next generation as "GRF2.0"
Bedding and garden plants are available at the farm, just off Route 22A in Shoreham. Also find their quality farm fresh products throughout the season at their wonderful farmstand, at the Middlebury Coop, and consider ordering a weekly custom arrangement of their flower bouquets for your business or special event.

June Strawberries Promotion
This week,
Rooted in Vermont is launching a statewide radio campaign that will be running from now into October. Each month will feature a 'Rooted in Vermont product' encouraging listeners to seek it out at their favorite stores, farm stands, farms, and pick-your-own areas.
The ads, which will not be calling out specific brands, will be running across multiple stations throughout the month that reach every corner of the state.
Here in Addison County ( & the Champlain Valley!) we have some significant berry growers with PYO operations, pre-picked at farmstands, and fantastic wholesale growers.
Support local strawberry growers with your purchases and support the stores that buy local too. Strawberries are actually a very strong consumer-demand crop with large economic impact. Find VT grown strawberries at farmstands, farmers' markets, at stores and of course make a family outing at a pick your own farm.

The Tour is set & we are thrilled!
The
12th Annual Tour de Farms
, is a leisurely and family-friendly farm tour by bicycle on September 21st, that starts and ends in Vergennes. This year's tour features two distances-a 30-mile route and a more relaxed, family-friendly 10-mile distance.
 Passing through the beautiful pastoral landscape of the Champlain Valley there are four to eight farms depending on your distance. Each farm stop hosts food and beverage producers so there'll be plenty of sustenance along the way. Riders sample everything from maple iced coffee and farm fresh salads to maple glazed ham and Vermont's famous cheeses!
At the end of your journey, spend some time enjoying the food and music at Vergennes' Eat on the Green event. Register now for a great day in September. Volunteer positions are available too.

Food Really is Medicine
A national trend is taking shape and ACORN is a part of it. The
Farmacy Project, a collaboration to increase the availability of fresh produce for patients.
In partnership with Vermont Department of Health, Porter Medical Center, county health care providers, we take it one step close
r to home with local farmers providing fresh, locally grown food. In this project individuals with preventable, diet-related illnesses have access to with healthy food while also providing our farmers with new markets.
Prescriptions written by health care providers make available free CSA shares furnished by local farmers.
