A Message From Dean Scheines
I hope that you and your loved ones are healthy. For the past several weeks we have been consumed by moving all our courses to remote/online delivery, moving the staff to work safely from home and finding ways to keep the students who remain on campus safe. Happily, the faculty, students and staff have stepped up in a big way — so far so good.

Sooriamurthi Wins Dietrich College’s Elliott Dunlap Smith Award
Raja Sooriamurthi, teaching professor in Carnegie Mellon University’s Information Systems Program (IS), has won the 2019-2020 Elliott Dunlap Smith Award for Distinguished Teaching and Educational Service in the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Carnegie Mellon Reimagines the English Degree
Carnegie Mellon University has relaunched its undergraduate English degree as the  Bachelor of Arts in Literature & Culture . The new program reflects a new vision for the humanities as well as the ongoing demand for humanities graduates.

Carnegie Mellon University alumna Heather Arnet (DC 1997) never met her great-grandmother, but for her entire life, she’s been inspired by stories of her struggles and success as a suffragette.
