Volunteer Spotlight
Volunteer of the Month:
Adriana Bade

Congratulations to Adriana Bade , a member of CRC's Jingle & Mingle Committee. From Lauren, Adriana's staff supervisor: "Adriana has single-handedly raised over $35,000 in in-kind donations from over 40 different companies! Thanks to Adriana, we'll be able to raise more funds at Jingle & Mingle to help families in need this holiday season and beyond." Adriana has secured Jingle & Mingle auction and raffle prizes from prominent donors, including Diamond Boutique, Southwest Airlines Fairbanks Country Club and more.

On why she likes giving back as a volunteer, Adriana says: " I grew up in a low income family that struggled to pay the bills each month. I think it’s really important to give back to those who are less fortunate and to show gratitude. Last year, I volunteered at the Jingle and Mingle. I was touched by the testimony of a gentleman that CRC had helped. The CRC is a fantastic organization that helps support North County families in a variety of different ways from food distribution, placement services, domestic violence support, etc. I am honored to be the Volunteer of the Month and to work with such a great group of people."

Thank you, Adriana, for bringing hope and joy to those in need this holiday season!
Special Recognition for our Volunteer of the Year: Apple Phillips

Community Resource Center and the North County Philanthropic Council honored Apple Philipps along with 94 volunteers from other non-profits at a November 9th luncheon. Apple has volunteered for CRC’s food pantry for nearly a decade, providing a constancy and compassion for our participants, and proving to be a valuable partner in our work in the community. Apple leads shifts on both Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Food and Nutrition Center, and has a very loyal and hard-working crew who volunteer with her.

When asked why she volunteers with CRC, Apple referenced her faith as her main motivation and says,  “I have the privilege to serve people from many walks of life whom I would never encounter if I just met with my own friends in familiar places. I serve at the CRC because for many people the services that CRC offers can change their lives. I love it when I see or read about people who have overcome difficult challenges with the help of caring staff and volunteers at the CRC."

Thank you, Apple, for your many years of service!
Food & Nutrition Center Lead Volunteers

Our Food and Nutrition Center runs five days a week, providing a warm smile and healthy food to hundreds of people. The Food Center is run by our lead volunteers during three shifts each day. The lead volunteers keep track of volunteer schedules, train new volunteers, and keep the Food Center running smoothly each day. This is a HUGE commitment and we are so grateful for each of our lead volunteers!

Our lead volunteers are: Jeanette Pasut, Duke Skaff, Janet Taetszch, Kit and Jim Brazier, Apple Phillips, Christine Maciulla, John Martinelli, Pierre Godefroy and Teresa Barth
San Dieguito Interfaith Ministerial Association (SDIMA) Thanksgiving Eve Service

Our community partners at SDIMA invite you to their Thanksgiving Eve Service this Wednesday at 7:00 pm. CRC will be speaking at the event and funds raised will help benefit our programs and Food & Nutrition Center.
