The 2019
Bay State Summer Games
are underway. The Games kicked off with Figure Skating Basic Skills competition on June 1. Coming up are 30 more sport competitions in the months of June and July. Check out the list of sports below for dates and locations. Click on each sport for more information.

The Bay State Games
Athlete of the Year
program was established to recognize individuals who excel above and beyond their athletic participation in the Bay State Games. Nominations can be submitted by coaches, commissioners, parents, volunteers, and even other players. The deadline to nominate an athlete is August 5, 2019. For more information,

The Bay State Games Hall of Fame was created in 2001 to recognize Bay State Games athletic alumni who have gone onto prestigious and successful collegiate, professional, or Olympic careers and to recognize former and current coaches, officials, sports organizers, volunteers, venues, and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Bay State Games throughout its history. This unique format of recognizing athletes as well as those who have played a significant role in the Games' success has resulted in an impressive list inductees.

The Bay State Games Internship Program offers candidates the opportunity to gain valuable experience in all phases of Sport Management. The State Games of America (SGA) is an Olympic-style event featuring competition between State Games medal winners (gold, silver, bronze) from across the nation that is held every two years. There are currently 30 states conducting or organizing statewide sports festivals known as State Games. Over 50 sports are offered at the State Games of America. If you competed at the Bay State Games in 2019 and/or 2020 and won a gold, silver or bronze medal in any sport offered at SGA, you have earned the right to compete in this national event in 2021.

Virginia Amateur Sports, Liberty University, The City of Lynchburg, and the Virginia Commonwealth Games will host the
2019 State Games of America
in Lynchburg, Virginia from July 31 - August 4, 2019. Expected to attract 14,000 competitors, the SGA gives athletes the chance to compete against medal winners from the past two years.
The 2019 Bay State Summer Games competition qualifies athletes for the State Games of America in Ames and Des Moines, Iowa in 2021. They will be hosted by the Iowa Games and Iowa State University. Invitations to the 2021 State Games of America will be distributed at select 2019 Bay State Games competitions. More information to come.
