2019-20 School Theme:
Open a Book

Begin a Journey
|
|
Welcome back! As we embark on the new decade and begin the calendar year, our students will look back at the first four months of the school year and reflect on the lessons learned in and out of the classroom. Our theme,
Open a Book, Begin a Journey,
helps students find truth, knowledge, and wisdom in their readings
–
translating words into individual thoughts that reflect the Academy’s Five Stars. Our Level 6 students recently finished reading Charles Dickens'
A Christmas Carol
in which Scrooge becomes a changed person. A New Year’s Resolution to consider comes through in Scrooge’s words: “I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!”
Wishing the best to each of you in 2020,
~ Doug Ricci
