2020 Stewardship Campaign Update
We have much to be thankful for this week, including our church and its mission on Nantucket: to make the love of God more widely known. We are thankful that we have the people and the resources for our ministries and outreach: for the pastoral care provided by our staff and clergy; the availability of our church as a place where youth can safely gather with their friends; our investment in Laundry Love, which allows those of modest means access to the local laundry; our support for the Island food, fuel and rental assistance programs; and our open door fellowship, among others. But with your open hearts and help, we can do more.
Thank you to those parishioners who have already pledged for 2020; your love and gratitude have taken us to more than 80% of our goal of pledge income of $350,000 a year within the next three years. We are thankful for those who plan to pledge: you can mail in your pledge card by the end of the year, as well as contribute online at our website through a secure link. We also have extra brochures and pledge cards on the table at the back of the church. In the event that you choose to pay your pledge with a gift of stock, please inform the Treasurer of the number of shares and the name of the security that you are donating. We ask for this because our broker - Commonwealth Securities - informs us only of the securities we receive, not the name of the donor. Some of you also may be eligible to make a contribution through a tax-advantaged IRA distribution; ask your financial advisor for details. Once again, you can adjust your
2020 pledge or gift up or down if your circumstances change. For more information on giving to St. Paul’s, please visit us at http://stpaulschurchnantucket.org/giving/. Again, thank you, and please give generously.
The Bake Table Needs your Help
The Christmas Market is less than two weeks away and hopefully you will join in by contributing some homemade goodies for the Bake Table. We need cookies, bars, brownies, pumpkin, zucchini or banana breads, cakes, cup cakes, preserves, honey, jams and jellies, etc. Please bring them to Gardner Hall on Friday, December 6th from 2pm – 5pm or Saturday December 7th after 8:30am but before 10 am. Your help is needed since the Bake Table is dependent on your generosity.
Christmas Wreath Sign-Up
The order sheet for beautiful St. Paul’s Christmas Wreaths is in the back of the church! You can also email Christine in the office to place an order (office@stpaulschurchnantucket.org). Please get your order in while supplies last! These make great gifts as well.
Christmas Flowers
Some of you may wish to remember a loved one, or celebrate and give thanks for a loved one, with a flower donation during the Christmas season. If so, please fill out a

Advent is a season of both quiet reflection and joyful expectation. St. Paul’s will continue its Advent observance with a Service of Advent Lessons and Carols with Eucharist on Sunday, December 15. This service is intended to be a time of spiritual preparation, as we watch and wait for the coming of the Kingdom of God. Through the experience of sacred word and music, the story of the coming of Christ will gradually unfold and deepen our understanding of God’s message of love and redemption; a service of words and music that will propel you quietly toward the true joy of Christmas.
