The following is an update from the district regarding the plans being put into place to assist families and employees during the COVID-19 situation. At the time this was distributed, there are no confirmed COVID-19 cases in Republic. As a reminder, the district will be closed through April 3, 2020. We invite you to visit https://www.republicschools.org/healthupdates for the latest information from Republic School District.

Below you will find some new, updated and repeated information from the previous communications.
UPDATED: What will learning look like in the coming weeks?
As stated before, we understand that school can not be replicated. However, our district is developing resources to support students in their learning while we are closed. Teachers and staff are meeting virtually this week to develop alternative learning options for students that will be deployed for the week of March 30. If you have not yet, expect to hear from your student's teacher(s) by Friday, March 27.

NOTE: Please make sure we have an updated email on file! Login to the SISK12 Parent Portal to view what we currently have listed.

We have created a framework for elementary learners that essentially includes an activity for each subject area every day that will be pushed out weekly to families. Teachers will use the  communication platform (email, Seesaw, Dojo, Smore, etc.) that they've been using all school year to get this information to you. This school work is considered "optional" for our students, but is a way to keep your student on track and growing academically during this time. For those without internet access, CLICK HERE to request printed packets of work that can be picked up from your home elementary building. As a reminder, our building parking lots have wifi access, and additional wifi access points are in the graphic below.

Secondary families received overall information from Mr. Overstreet (HERE) and Mrs. Dishman ( HERE) on Monday, March 23. In addition, individual teachers will be reaching out about specific coursework. Work will primarily be done on Canvas, the district's learning management tool that has been in place for several years . As a reminder, all secondary students have personal school-issued Chromebooks to use for this work.   If you need assistance logging on to Canvas visit CLICK HERE. Suggested learning activities will be provided daily for each course a student is enrolled in. Scores on these activities will be to the benefit of the student and will not negatively impact their academic standing in the course.  We are awaiting guidance in regards to A+ and university/college partnerships.  For those without internet access,  contact your RMS or RHS teacher(s) to request printed packets of work that can be picked up from school.

Teachers will be available to provide feedback on student work throughout this time.  As a reminder, our building parking lots have wifi access.

Watch for other engagement opportunities coming your way soon! #repmoproud #spreadspiritnotgerms
