School is out, and in just a couple of weeks, summer will officially here. We're not waiting for the solstice, though! Valley Humane Society is kicking off our June Yappy Hour series this Saturday, and Critter Campers start arriving next week to embark on their humane adventure. It's an exciting, busy time at our adoption center. Stop by and say hello, and remember to keep yourselves and your pets safe and cool this summer!
Raise a Glass to Rescue
Summer has arrived, and with it, our much-anticipated Yappy Hour series! We kick off this Saturday at Cellar Door Wine Bar in downtown Pleasanton from 2-6 pm. This year six venues in the Tri-Valley are competing to see who will earn "wagging rights" as top fundraiser. Activities vary by venue, but Yappy Hour swag and great raffles will be available throughout. Pick your favorite location, grab some friends and a doggie date, and come on out for a great time!
County Fair Donation Drive
On Wednesday, June 19, fair-goers can earn free admission with the donation of supplies to help local dogs and cats. Bring items from the list between 11 am and 5 pm, and receive one free admission per donation (see suggested donation size/items here), plus enjoy $1 rides until 5 pm. Leave Fido at home and spend some time with a corn dog this summer!
Stay Cool this Summer
After months of chilly temps and surprise showers, suddenly we hit the 90-degree mark! That means it's high time for a reminder about the danger to pets from being left in cars.
