Vacation Bible School Supplies needed!
This year at Vacation Bible School we will be going to Mars and Beyond to explore where God's power can take us!
We keep VBS at Saint Mark free of charge for members and community friends! We are grateful for any supplies you may be able to donate. If you have questions, ask Pastor Shelby ( associate@saintmarkpresby.org).
Please drop your supplies off in the church atrium by June 16.

The Storyteller for VBS needs some items for the plays.
- 1 or 2 crowns (BurgerKing kind is fine)
- Tai-Cornered hat (like you would get in Williamsburg)
- A throne, or a fancy chair we could use as one
- 4 yellow t-shirts. They can have writing on one side.

Remember Pentecost Sunday June 9.
Come on fire! You are also encouraged to wear Red.  The All-Church pot-luck picnic will follow the worship. Bring a lawn chair and bring a dish.

Pentecost Offering June 9 - 16
On Pentecost Sunday, we recall how the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, filling them with a powerful boldness and deep spirituality.  In joyful remembrance of that pivotal event, and gratitude for God's spirit at work in our lives, the PCUSA established the Pentecost Church-wide offering. This offering received throughout all our congregations, uses sixty (60%) of what we give to support youth ministries, provide children-at-risk safe havens, and support Young Adult Volunteers (YAV) in their year of Christian service. (Pastor Shelby serves on the Presbytery Board for YAV ministries.)

Forty percent (40%) of our giving stays at Saint Mark to support youth ministry.
We encourage you to join in giving thru our Sunday worship collection, texting YOUNG to 56512 or online at presbyterianmission.org/give/pentecost

Join Pastor Howard leading Bible Study on Mondays.
We are studying the book of Acts and the role Spirit in the formation of the early Church. We'll meet again on June 10. Read chapters 11-16.
We'll meet in Room 105 .

Connections Ministry Summer Schedule
June 9th- Congregational picnic and Pentecost Sunday.  Wear Red and sign-up here  for picnic!

June 16th- Lemonade on the Lawn begins. Sign-up  here  for a weekend

Since January the Connections Ministry has been hosting our Extended Coffee Hours and special events such as Easter brunch and lunch under the tent.  Our crew will take a much needed summer hiatus beginning June 16th.  During the summer months, we will have sign-up for any family that would like to host Lemonade on the Lawn. Extended Coffee Hour Brunches will resume Sunday, September 8th.

It takes a great deal of elbow grease and time to put all of these food events together.  In addition to coming early every Sunday morning, people have to plan, shop, cook, and run around during the week. And if that wasn't enough, our wonderful crew stay after to do the unglamorous work of clean up.  We are so lucky to have these people as a part of our church family.  This week,  please join me in thanking the following people for their incredible support and stalwart efforts:  Megan Covall, Sharon and Paul Tarr, Ellie Hagner, Karen and Tom Prevlosky, Phyllis Norrie, Martha Garcia and Mariechen Bresler.
We couldn't do any of this without you!!!!

Join other Saint Mark members and at the Lauren Daigle concert on August 23, 7 PM at Merriweather Post.
We'll gather for a picnic, then enjoy the music. You can purchase tickets at this website:  Merriweather Post

Lauren Daigle recently received a grammy for her recent album and was named the artist of the year. She has received numerous other awards. Here is a sample from her latest album:
