Compliance Alliance has offered their Pandemic Planning Policy free for member use, it is available on our website or to download here.
The U.S. Small Business Administration is working as quickly as possible to put the mechanisms, policies and procedures in place to implement the newly-passed CARES ACT legislation. The Paycheck Protection Program is scheduled to open Friday. We will be providing information as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, we ask for your patience. Once we receive guidance we will send it to you and we will then be able to better assist you with your questions. Please hold calls and emails and we will be in touch as soon as we have the information to share out.

2020 LEGISLATIVE WRAP-UP

The 2020 regular session of the West Virginia Legislature has proven to be an incredibly productive and successful legislative year for the banking industry in West Virginia. During the 2020 session, the WVBankers and Community Bankers of West Virginia (CBWV) sought passage of six pieces of legislation. 

In addition to the industry sponsored bills, we were actively involved in two additional pieces of legislation with potential ramifications to the banking industr y;  continued.

Currently, the WVBankers Annual Convention will be held as scheduled.  Should we need to cancel at a later date, all collected registration fees will be refunded without penalty. However, if we continue to hold the convention and an attendee chooses to cancel on their own, normal cancellation fees will apply.

ABA Seeks Info from Banks on Coronavirus Response

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread in the United States, with effects both on individuals' health and the U.S. economy,   ABA  is compiling a list of actions individual banks are taking to support their retail and business clients, protect their employees and support the economy. The running list will help   ABA  educate both the public and policymakers about how banks are helping customers affected by the crisis. 

Banks looking to share details on their initiatives can email information to   CoronavirusResponse@aba.com   or complete this survey. The list will be updated as more information is received from banks across the country.
WEST VIRGINIA WORK REMOTE CONNECTION (WV-WRC) INITIATIVE

As we all come to grips with the new paradigm brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, maintaining the health and productivity of West Virginia's economy is critically important.  

State leaders have closed schools, called for residents to stay at home and recommend that business owners allow their employees to work remotely from home.

This new reality poses myriad challenges for businesses, both small and large. Managing business continuity has become a priority for not just employers, but our local, state and federal governments, as well;  full release.
Due to the Coronavirus, GSBLSU's 2020 session has been postponed until May 24 - June 4, 2021.  While it is unfortunate that the 71st session of the school had to be su spended, plans are already being made for the 2021 session; read full release.
