The Top of the Hill School for Girls in Nyahururu, Kenya will be a sustainable campus for Kenyan girls. The design seeks to inspire creative thinking and promote a connection to the extraordinary natural landscape of the region through outdoor community spaces, gardens, porches and play fields overlooking Mount Kenya.
Currently under construction, the new Medina Community Library Meeting Hall is designed to be a “living room” for the community with adaptable gathering spaces. The hall will be powered by a PV array and rainwater will be collected to irrigate the surrounding community gardens.
The Nathan and Anna Kallison Amphitheater will be a vital addition to Government Canyon State Natural Area in San Antonio, Texas, completing their masterplan Lake|Flato helped establish 15 years ago. Constructed of regional materials, the amphitheater will be an environmental education center hosting programs about the area’s unique ecology, geology and history. The project will also indclude an immersive outdoor science classroom.
