June 2019 Newsletter
Promoting healthy and sustainable oceans through education that inspires action & advocacy
Thank You!

Our event "On the Brink: Saving our Right Whale, Saving our Ocean" was a huge success! We could not have done it without the help of our guests and supporters. We are pleased to announce that we were able to reach our fundraising goal of $50,000 to help the North Atlantic right whale. Follow this link for more photos from the event!

Celebrating Pride & the Ocean!

This year, the New England Aquarium will participate in the  Boston Pride Parade  for the first time! The parade kicks off from Copley Square at noon on Saturday, June 8. If you would like to meet up with our group attending the event, please  contact Emily Conklin . The ocean connects us all!

World Oceans Day: Preventing
 Plastic Pollution

Join us at the  New England Aquarium's World Oceans Day celebration on Sunday, June 9 from 11:30am to 3pm. The event  focuses  on eliminating single-use plastics. We will be doing our part by learning to make reusable bags from old t-shirts! T-shirt donations welcome. World Oceans Day is free and open to the public, but does not include Aquarium admission.

Join us for a showing of "Sonic Sea" on June 11th!

Mark your calendars!  WBUR 90.9 FM will be hosting a screening of "Sonic Sea" on June 11th. Following the film there will be a discussion with Dr. Leila Hatch of the  NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries and Barbara Moran of WBUR.

This film eloquently addresses the challenges marine animals face on a daily basis due to the large amounts of man-made underwater noise in the ocean. We hope you will be able to attend!
