LACUE 2018 is Here!

The Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators is excited to have finally reached November and the start of the LACUE  33rd Annual Conference. In a couple of short weeks, from November 27-29, 2018, we hope to see you at the Hyatt New Orleans. As always, we'll be hosting fantastic sessions that will keep you up-to-date with the latest and greatest edtech has to offer your students.

 Pre-registration has closed, but you can still attend by registering onsite. On-site registrants must bring payment by cash, check, or credit card. Purchase Orders will NOT be accepted for on-site registrants. On-site registration begins at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27th, 2018.

2018 LACUE Board Nominations

Through the LACUE nominating committee, the following individuals have been nominated to fill upcoming Board openings. Voting for these positions will be held at the opening session of the 2018 LACUE Conference.

Tammy Seneca has been appointed to the open board position for President-Elect.
 Stephanie Thompson has been appointed to the open board position as secretary.
ISTE Board Elections

Voting for two positions on ISTE's Board of Directors is happening now through November 26th, and t here are five amazing educators on the ballot. We encourage you to take a moment to look at the credentials and beliefs of each. This Board is responsible for utilizing ISTE's mission  t o use technology to bring innovation to teaching and learning, and solve tough problems in education.

Nikole BlanchardIt is with great excitement that we announce Louisiana's own Nikole Blanchard as a candidate for one of the two open positions. Nikole is the Director of Innovation and Technology at The Dunham School in Baton Rouge. She is in her 18th year of education and holds a masters of Arts in Educational Technology from LSU. Amongst her many, many accolades, Nikole is a strong leader within her school who has  led 93 teachers to 100% Apple Teacher. This accomplishment led to Nikole being invited to share the stage with Apple's CEO, Tim Cook earlier this year--a career highlight!

We congratulate Nikole on her many successes and are excited about the potential of having someone who knows Louisiana and can speak for Louisiana teachers represent us at the national level.
