November 2018: News, Events, and Opportunities for CASA Volunteers

Letter from CASA Executive Director Angela Rose

Dear CASA Volunteers:

It's here! The holiday season is here and I hope you all are looking forward to an enjoyable Thanksgiving celebration next week.

We have a lot to be thankful for here at CASA. First and foremost we are thankful for YOU, our volunteers. Two more citizens joined your ranks this month. Our newest advocates are Sheralyn Hoffman and Lisa Kayson, pictured here with Judge Bain. Thank you for your commitment to the children of the Pikes Peak Region, ladies!

We are also thankful for the support our Community Campaign has been receiving around town. We have currently raised $1.8 million of our $2.8 million goal, and over the past month we've had the opportunity to share the campaign on Fox21 and KRDO News Radio.

As a reminder, the CASA office will be closed next Thursday and Friday (Nov. 22 and 23) for Thanksgiving, followed by closures on Dec. 24, 25, 31, and Jan. 1.

Thank you all for your continued service to the children in our community, and if there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to reach out. I can be reached at angelar@casappr.org.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Angela

Do you have the updated Court Report Writing Guide?

The D&N Team has updated the court report writing guide for advocates based on the feedback we received after several court report writing in-service trainings over the last few months.  You should have received an updated guide via email from your D&N Case Supervisor, and it will also be discussed during the Nov. 16 Quarterly Gathering. If you have not received yours yet, please contact your Case Supervisor.

Welcome to the CASA family, Vondelle!

Many of you have met Vondelle Hebert as she's been working the front desk for a few months now.

However, we are super excited to announce that Vondelle is now a full-time member of the CASA staff. In addition to working as the CASA Receptionist, she is also the C-Fit Coordinator.

If you haven't met her yet, feel free to drop by and say hello!
