It's all a matter of perspective...

Dear ChURch Family,

What do you see in this picture? An old man with a beard wearing a hat? Or is there something more? Can you see the animal hiding in the picture?

Our perspective- the way we interpret what's happening around us- can make or break us in any given situation. Our perspectives shape us, how we think, how we relate to people, how we live each day of our lives. Perspective creates opportunity to grow and opportunity to step out... it can also hinder our progress and restrict us.

A negative perspective is negative and limiting. It is reactive rather than proactive. It says:

I can't
I will never
I could never
That always happens to me
That never happens to me
That's not possible

An optimistic perspective is positive and overcoming. It is responsive and proactive. It says:

I can
I will
I will try
It's going to be OK
Let's keep going

A faith-filled perspective says:

I can do all things through Christ (Philippians 4.13)
With God nothing is impossible (Luke 1.39/ Matthew 19.26)

Consider your perspective. Is it limiting or enlarging?

Prayer Requests

At Hosanna, a person remains on the prayer chain for two weeks. However, in cases of long-term illness, hospice, or by request, the members of the prayer chain will pray for a person and/or situation in need, as long as requested.

Hosanna's Sunshine Discovery Center is opening Fall of 2019 and will be the second Forest Lake location to partner with Lake Area Discovery Center (LADC). The newly expanded programming will include flexible schedule options for INFANTS starting at 6 weeks and TODDLERS, starting at 16 months old. It will build on the strong, 30+ year history of Sunshine Preschool, by adding extended/wrap-around care, full-time schedule options and accreditation/ quality ratings. Weathering Life's Losses Adult Grief Group

A grief support group where participants learn about grief, have an opportunity to
share their story, as well as hear and support others who have experienced a

Student Leadership Camp

Grades 5+

July 15-18

Time: 9:00-1:00 pm, sack lunch except on Thursday when provided!

Student Leadership Campers will be known as "God Squad" during the VBS week. You will get to spend the morning session leading our Elementary Groups in Music, Games, Snack and assisting with the Bible Dive. In the afternoon if you choose to stay for the extended day, you will be "earning Hosanna bucks" to be put towards a future trip or event at Hosanna as a way to gain leadership experience for future opportunities. You ARE a leader and WILL ROCK THIS in JESUS' NAME!

Green Earth Team

Cost: $45, includes t-shirt- Snacks- Activities

Extended Day option available, 11:30 AM- 5:00 PM. Additional Cost: $45 per child - Save $5 per additional children (Family Max. $150)

We are excited to bring you a fun-filled week with God - through music, games, snack, Bible story telling and more! We will also be looking for volunteers to help guide our kids through each station. Stay tuned for ways in which you can help.

Join us for a half day, led by Hosanna Lutheran Church Volunteers and our God Squad (Jr. Leadership kids). Your child will get to experience a taste of day camp through music, games, snack, Bible story telling and more! Space is limited. Enrollment is limited to 40 children, so register early. Children must be potty trained.

Interested in meeting and serving our Neighbors in Jamaica?

Get involved with Hosanna coming this Winter, 2020. A Mission Jamaica trip combines a service project, with time for reflection and spiritual rest. It allows a person to experience an international mission field that is close to home, yet far enough away to immerse yourself in another culture for a week. Over 30 years of accompanying our Jamaican neighbors, has led to over 35 Evangelical Lutheran Churches in America congregations and several colleges from Minnesota as well as North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina and Illinois in partnership with St. Andrew's in Mahtomedi, MN to get involved to make a difference for this community.
