Wooden Shoe. > Wooden Shoe Who?
Wooden shoe like to hear another joke?
Advent’s Holy Humor Sunday is on April 25!
This will be a worship service to continue our Easter celebration in creative and hilarious ways. Easter is a time of joy and laughter. Let us share our humor!
“Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things
for them.’ The Lord has done great things for us
and we are filled with joy.” (Psalm 126:2-3,)

Communion classes and First Communion
Open to 1st – 6th graders (starting this year)
Do you share food with your children?
Just as we gather around a table to share food with our family, our faith community gathers around an altar to receive communion. God welcomes everyone and calls us by our names. We are all part of God’s family. All people are welcome to receive communion at Advent.
The meal of Holy Communion is a gift of God, dependent not on how mature or perceptive we are, but on God’s grace. We are strengthened in faith by the meal so that we can, in turn, reach out to those who are in need throughout the local community and the world.
To help kids 1st through 6th graders prepare for their first communion, register for a parent / child learning ZOOM event - May 16 & 23 - NOON - 1:00pm
Bring your lunch and we will eat and learn together.
(These classes will be recorded if you need to view and learn at a different time.)
The First Communion worship service will be June 13, 2021.

Mask Donations for
Central Lutheran Church
Advent volunteers create masks to donate to Central Lutheran in Minneapolis, as its day program supporting people experiencing homelessness. We greatly appreciate our volunteers and encourage them to continue this important work.
For March, our Advent sewing volunteers created 186 masks, and our students, both Sunday School and Confirmation age, decorated and donated 63 masks, together totaling 249 masks for this month. Wow! Thank you to all who contributed! For April, masks will be collected from the bin by the back doors on the 25th and mailed to Central Lutheran shortly thereafter. Sewing supplies of fabric, thread and elastic are available for pickup on request. Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Betsy Cardinal with those requests and any further questions.

Prayer
Prayer is our personal connection with God and guides us individually and as a church. It is a vital part of our faith life, and an important way we can continue to minister to one another in this time of social distancing. We know that God hears our prayers and will empower us to see God’s will in our lives!
Pray for our church and our world this week: for the continued opportunities to both worship and serve together in this time; for the many ways that we are still formed by our faith in this time; for our new Church Council members; for families as some continue with distance learning for students and some adjust to in-person learning for students; for doctors and nurses who are treating people with COVID; for all people who are sick with COVID; for our leaders as they work to effectively distribute the vaccine; for all people making transitions in life and work during this time; for all Advent volunteers; for those who worship online with us who we haven’t met in person yet; for an end to white supremacy in our country, institutions, and hearts; for all people on our weekly prayer list:
Jeff D., Jan N., Mary B., Mark P., Connie S., Sharon L., Barb, McKenzie, Cory, Julie, Jeni F., Deanna G., Gary F., Dave C., Kim T., Marlene I., Charlotte G., Marliss E., Pat D., Benjamin T., All who need God's Easter hope.
(Due to privacy concerns and internet safety protocol, we cannot publish last names.) For confidential prayer requests, you may leave a private voice mail by calling 763-425-4243 and pressing “2” when the answering machine picks up. You can also e-mail our Prayer Chain leaders.

Let Us Worship
~ Edited New Kilpatrick Parish Church’s Call to Worship
inspired by Psalm 23, John 10
I AM the Good Shepherd,
the one who tends us, guides us into pastures,
who recognizes the sounds of our names.
I AM the Good Shepherd,
the one who bends to heal us, travels through the
deepest valleys with us,
who give up everything for us all.
I AM the Good Shepherd,
the one whose rod and staff comfort us,
whose strength and love holds us
whose cup of love runneth over.
I AM the Good Shepherd,
and we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Let us unite in worship
as God’s People, in God’s love, for God’s world.
