beMatrix LEDskin Technology: No Limit to Innovation

Every meeting professional - whether on the meetings and special events side or the trade show side of the business - wants to make his or her event stand out in the minds of attendees and participants. After 25 years in the business, one thing we've learned at Cheshire is that meetings professionals are creative: there's seldom a shortage of great ideas. Those ideas might come from pure imagination or from some concept that was seen at another show, and that the organization would like to emulate by incorporating their own brand and theme.

Earlier this year, Cheshire purchased the beMatrix 2.5mm LEDskin technology. Because we now own this equipment, it is more affordable for many more clients than when we relied on our equipment partners. We've found that it's an incredible tool for exercising creativity and delivering a unique experience.

To spark your imagination for an upcoming function, we wanted to share some of the innovative and dramatic staging designs on which we've had the opportunity to use beMatrix:

TIA 3PL Technovations 2019
VIDEOWALLS

For conferences, and trade shows, beMatrix LEDskin technology allows us to build a wall in virtually any size and configuration, to present ultra-high-resolution slides, logos, videos, presentations by speakers, or whatever is needed to engage your attendees in an immersive experience.

WRAPS, FRAMES AND CURVES

If you have a challenging space where a flat screen may not be the best solution for optimal viewing, or you want to present a unique visual effect, consider beMatrix LEDskin technology that maximizes space and makes viewers feel surrounded. Also consider that if you have a "plain vanilla" stage or exhibit space to which you want to add pizzazz, it can wrap around square edges or frame architectural elements to incorporate the theme, the décor, and the organization's brand and messaging.

DISPLAYS AND MESSAGES

Not every use of beMatrix LEDskin technology needs to be monumental. It is equally effective  used as podiums, registration desks, information boards, and trade show displays to showcase your brand and your logo, or to share information in a dynamic way.

BUILD-A-SPACE

When exhibiting at a trade show, there's a "blank canvas" of space with which to work. beMatrix LEDskin is a dynamic display technology for building a space and experience that is inviting, memorable and immersive, so your product and messaging gets attendees' full attention.

beMatrix LEDskin technology is limited only by imagination! So if you have a staging idea for your next show - whether it's more traditional or really "out there," call us to collaborate on how we can make your vision reality.
Jesse Newcomb: Sixteen Years of Contributing to Cheshire's Success

Jesse Newcomb
It was August 4th sixteen years ago that Jesse Newcomb first became a valued member of the Cheshire team.

"At that time, around 80% of our business came from Kodak.  I started in-house at the Riverwood Kodak Offices, servicing the meeting rooms there. I soon had the opportunity to do other, bigger jobs.

Jesse was quickly involved in working on trade shows for Kodak as well as other Cheshire clients.

"I remember that one of the first trade shows I did for Kodak was in New Orleans. I tried to learn as much as possible on that and the other shows to follow."

Today, his primary focus at Cheshire is on the  trade show side of the business working with exhibit houses

Jesse finds the recent developments in beMatrix LEDskin technology an exciting development in the world of trade shows.

"It's more flexible than prior technology and allows us to be more creative.  We've had access to it in the past, but we now own it, making it more affordable for smaller shows as well as larger ones. In the past five to ten years, this technology has really come a long way."

When asked about the most fulfilling aspects of his job, he quickly responds,  "When a client comes to us with an idea, and we're able to come up with a solution to make their dream work, I find that very rewarding. As with all live events there there have to be a few compromises along the way, but we're usually able to achieve what they envision. I really enjoy bringing their ideas to life."

"One thing that's important to me about working with Cheshire is that their culture focuses around being part of the client's team. We're there to solve problems, not just be a vendor. We consider it our responsibility to bring solutions to the table, and we feel great satisfaction in doing that."
Client Feedback Is Always Welcome at Cheshire

We love our clients, and it's always a pleasure working with them. We also appreciate receiving feedback -- whether it's about something we could enhance, or whether it's about an event at which we have exceeded client expectations.

We recently had the opportunity to work with the  Larry and Cindy Bloch Alumni and Advancement Center at URMC on two events, and we received the following  note, which Sarah Craig has given us  permission to share:

I just wanted to take the time to email you both to say THANK YOU for everything!

Between my event last week at the Genesee Valley Club and then my event last night at Country Club of Rochester, everything has been perfect.

I also wanted to take a minute to recognize your staff.  Tim and Todd did a great job last week and last night Todd and George were awesome. Dr. Berk arrived and was unable to use the clicker for the PowerPoint and I was a little worried because he wanted to run the PowerPoint from his laptop which was a MacBook. George without hesitation said not to worry that he had everything we needed to make it happen.

I thanked them both a couple times but I just can't thank them enough. It is great when you have the chance to work with people who are great at their jobs but it is even better when you get to work with people who are also great all around. I am glad that I have had the chance to work with you and your team and look forward to working with all of you in all of our events in the future!

I am sure you hear this a lot but I want to thank you making my first two events flawless!

THANK YOU!!!

Assistant Director, URMC Constituent Engagement

Many thanks to Sarah for taking the time to share her experience.

How to Get a Better Night's Sleep in a Hotel

After working a long day, some meetings professionals fall right to sleep. But if you're one of those who tosses and turns when you're not in your own bed, check out Successful Meetings' article on how to get a better night's sleep in a hotel

Another suggestion we can offer is, if you can find some time during the day -- either before the day starts, or between the meeting and the cocktail reception to fit in a little exercise, that can often help bring on the ZZZZs.

H ow to Have More Engaging Conversations at Events

We've all been in that awkward spot where you have to make small talk and conversation with someone you've never met before and know nothing about.

Michelle Lupo offers some great suggestions for how to have a deeper, more engaging conversation with someone you have just encountered in her Article, "How to Strike Up a More Engaging Conversation at Events."

What You Need to Know about Cannibus for Your Events

As more states legalize pot and cannibus products, meetings professionals holding events in those states need to know the regulations so they can help attendees avoid difficulties.

This is vital because transporting cannibus across state lines is still a federal offense. Also, rules can differ for in-state residents vs. out-of-state visitors.
