Attention Anteater Families!

Registration for Anteater Family Weekend remains OPEN, and classroom sessions are filling fast! Be sure to secure your spot for the event before space runs out.

Join us on February 28 for "Why (Partially) Unboil the Egg?"

Professor Gregory Weiss from the School of Physical Sciences focuses on his team's 2015 experiment to un-boil a hardboiled egg in this fascinating presentation during Anteater Family Weekend.

This Nobel Prize winning experiment not only solved significant challenges for the manufacturing of proteins, but it also became the basis of a spin-out company founded last year. Molding shapes is incredibly important in the function of a protein and this exciting research shows us how we can control proteins and enzymes in human bodies.

Career Discovery Series & Job Shadow Program
Experts say that 70% of people ended up in their current position thanks to networking. You could be the connection that helps a student get their first job.

While your student may occasionally roll their eyes when you advise them, you have valuable experience & insight to share with students - who are eager to connect with you! The Division of Career Pathways is seeking professionals for two important opportunities this winter quarter:
Serve as a panelist during this 90-minute event as you discuss your current position, career path and any tips and hints for students wanting to get into that career field. A networking session will follow.

Panels include: business, environmental science, public service, arts &entertainment, healthcare, data science and more. Contact Karol Johansen ( [email protected]) for more info.

Job Shadow Program - March 23-27 (Spring Break)
Serve as a host for the Job Shadow Program and provide students with a glimpse into your work life. As a host, you can share any of the following:
  • Tour of the facility
  • Observation meetings/other activities
  • Informational interviews
  • Presentations by leaders or administrators
Host application deadline is January 31. For more information about the Job Shadow Program contact Alexis Urias ([email protected]).
