Western Maryland Regional Library's Newsletter  --  November/December 2019

Western Maryland Regional was selected to administer a grant to stock Maryland prison libraries with new books. The Maryland Department of Labor has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Maryland State Librarian's Office to purchase approximately $8,100 worth of new books for 12 Maryland correctional libraries.
Correctional facility library staff selects the titles to be ordered. The Regional checks the orders and transmits them to the vendor for filling and shipment. The books are checked in at the Regional and invoiced. Then they are divided up to be sent out to each of the 12 prison libraries. The process is ongoing and will be completed within the next few months.
The Regional is pleased with this opportunity to provide this great service to the libraries at Maryland's correctional facilities.
