Mass for the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
There are still a few reservations available for the September 5th,
in-person Mass.  The sign-up will remain open until Thursday at noon.

Monday through Wednesday each week, we will be taking reservations for our in-person Vigil Mass that weekend.  Go to www.stjohnsea.org and click on the Mass Reservations button for more information.

Adult Faith Formation Opportunity
Begins tonight!
St Bridget Parish Presents:
Beginning Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020 at 7:15 pm via Zoom, join Fr. William Heric and Director of Faith Formation, Carla Loucks as we take a walk through the Liturgy of the Mass with Bishop Barron. The St John Book Club will be meeting on Sunday, September 6th at 6pm to discuss the book Tattoos on the Heart by Gregory Boyle.

New Hours for Private Prayer
Tuesdays
9-11am and 4-6pm
We are now offering an evening slot for those who can't make it during the day.   Come anytime between 9-11am or 4-6pm on Tuesdays to enjoy the peaceful sanctuary and spend some quiet time with God.   (Please wear a mask.)  If you are interested in being the on-site volunteer for one (or more) of these sessions, contact Sheila Marty at [email protected]

We will be holding 2 virtual recruiting events this year. They will be held on Wednesday, September 9th from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and on Wednesday, September 16th from 7 to 8 pm. You only need to attend one. You can join the meeting with this link.

Laudato Si' in Action
World Day of Prayer for Creation
September marks the end of summer and back to school. September also marks the start of the Season of Creation. Pope Francis released a message on September 1st on the Season and the World Day of Prayer for Creation:
 
Each year, particularly since the publication of the Encyclical Laudato Si', the first day of September is celebrated by the Christian family as the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation and the beginning of the Season of Creation, which concludes on the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi on the fourth of October. During this period, Christians worldwide renew their faith in the God of creation and join in prayer and work for the care of our common home.
 
If you missed the World Day of Prayer for Creation this year, don't fret. You can still celebrate it a few days late by saying a prayer for all of creation, and by vowing to reduce your carbon footprint and work to care for our planet and all those who inhabit it.
