The public is invited to attend the regular WPRA board meetings, held at 6:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month (except May, August, and December) in the Westridge School Community Room (unless otherwise noted), 324 Madeline Dr. Park in the State St. lot and walk north across campus to the Community Room.
WPRA seeks email newsletter editors
Do you have organizing and editing skills? If so, you can help the WPRA achieve its mission of informing the community. Send an email to [email protected] to volunteer to serve as one of several co-editors of WPRA's weekly Neighborhood Update email newsletter. It will only take a few hours a week (on your own schedule) in the month or two each year in which you'd serve. We'll train you.

The Recreational Loop will be closed Saturday, November 17 from 3:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. The Equestrian Trail will remain open at all times.
Similar to last year's season, there will be a brief use of pyrotechnics 30 minutes prior to Kickoff as well as when the team runs onto the field and during the National Anthem. (Total pyrotechnics display may be heard for under 20 seconds). In addition, there will be a 15 second air horn blown simultaneously to the pyrotechnics, 30 minutes prior to the start of the game.

On Thursday, November 22, join the Rose Bowl in a timed race around the stadium grounds and Brookside Golf Course in the scenic Arroyo Seco on Thanksgiving morning. Registration/check-in: 8 a.m., race: 9 a.m. Start-Line & Registration Table will be located at North Lot K (Corner of West Dr. and Seco St.) Parking will be located in Lot K. This is a ticketed event.

Winter watering schedule reminder: From November 1 through March 31, the winter watering schedule resumes and outdoor watering is only permitted on Saturdays before 9 a.m. and after 6 p.m.
November 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., neighbors and friends are invited to join Caltech and The Planetary Society to watch and celebrate as InSight - the first robotic explorer built to study the interior of Mars! Seating will be on a first come, first serve basis. Seating will be on a first come, first serve basis. Must RSVP. At Beckman Auditorium, 332 S. Michigan Ave.
Pasadena residents can now utilize Pasadena's PassportParking mobile app to purchase a temporary overnight exemption. The PassportParking app is free to download through the App Store and Google Play. You can also manage your parking via the web at www.ppprk.com. Questions? "Superintendent Brian McDonald has named Leslie Barnes, Ed.D., as the District's new Chief Business Officer. Dr. Barnes has a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Finance from the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She also has a Certificate in School Business Management from California State University, Fullerton. Dr. Barnes completed the CBO Mentoring Project of the state's Fiscal Crisis & Management Assistance Team." Pasadena Now
"The Pasadena Unified School District Board Thursday concluded it has achieved its $10.1 million, two-year budget-shrinking goal without needing to close any more school campuses - and has seemingly sidestepped the possibility of a fiscal take over by the Los Angeles County Office of Education. Pasadena Unified will continue to adjust final cuts and projections prior to submitting its final fiscal stabilization plan to the County next month." Pasadena Now
"PCC's Board of Trustees has named three California community college leaders as final candidates in the search for the college's next superintendent/president. The candidates are: ErikaA. Endrijonas, Ph.D., Kimberlee S. Messina, Ed.D. and J. Arturo Reyes, Ed.D.
Each candidate will host open forums in Creveling Lounge, Nov. 27-29 at noon and 5:30 each day. The board expects to publicly announce a final candidate at its Dec. 12 business meeting.

"A plan by ArtCenter College of Design to mount an 8000-square-foot "digital gallery" on the southeastern-facing front of its newest South campus building at Arroyo Parkway and Glenarm Street met with stiff resistance from community groups Thursday evening. Following an information-only Planning and Community Development Department presentation about a proposed Zoning Code Text Amendment which could allow outdoor electronic signs, representatives of three resident associations - Madison Heights, West Pasadena Residents Association and the Linda Vista/Annandale Neighborhood Association - spoke out against the proposed new gallery." "The Metro Ad Hoc Congestion, Highway and Roads Committee unanimously approved the first set of projects worth a total of $514.4 million. The list must be approved by the LA Metro Board of Directors at their meeting in December. In west Pasadena, where the street-level Gold Line train blocks traffic along east-west California Boulevard just east of Raymond Avenue, a grade separation is recommended to remove the backup of cars waiting for the trains to travel in and out of the Del Mar Station."
