GIVING TEACHERS THE CREDITS THEY DESERVE

The New York State Education Department has certified Bronx Children's Museum as an Approved Sponsor of Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE). The Museum is now certified to conduct workshops and classes that count towards a 100-hour continuing education requirement that all teachers must fulfill within a five year period.

Early-Childhood Education Accredited Workshop
We are happy to announce the first accredited workshop designed for early-childhood educators will take place this March at Hostos Community College. Presented in partnership with WNET/Channel Thirteen, the workshop will focus on providing teachers with strategic tools to engage children in interdisciplinary learning.

For details and more information about registering for the workshop, please contact Nicole Wallace, STEAM and External Affairs Director, at nicole@bronxchildrensmuseum.org.
RECOGNITION FOR RUSO!

Farewell, Ruso! We are sad to bid farewell to one of our long-time architects, Ruso Margishvili, as she moves on to a new design opportunity. Ruso has been involved with the Museum's design and build-out since the very beginning. We will all miss her calmness and attention to detail.

LITTLE FRIENDS OF THE MUSEUM:
PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER

Our after-school program at Roberto Clemente State Park celebrated the end of the semester with an art exhibition and party. Working with Teaching Artists Natalie Collette Wood, Javaka Steptoe, and Chris Gomez, twenty second-grade students from P.S. 274  studied the NYC watershed and created a series of inspired murals. Photographs of the murals will be used by Natalie Wood in the creation of a large-scale watershed mural, which will be a permanent feature in the Museum when it opens.

Funding for LFM is provided by a CASA grant from City Council Member Vanessa Gibson, the NYS Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, with support from SCAN.
