Your Opinion Matters!
Dear Puesta del Sol Families,

We would like to extend our gratitude to the volunteers and leaders in our school community. We are thankful for the family fun events, after school programs, and enrichment programs that have already enhanced our students academically and socially. Thank you for dedicating your time and dollars to our PTA!

In order to plan for the next calendar year and beyond we would like to hear from you. What have you liked? How can the PTA be more informative? What do you think about the Big Give fundraising drive? Please take a moment to take our 2018 Fall Survey.

In the past, we were able to alter our programs and events to suit our students and families' needs based on survey results. Please help us continue to improve each season.

Gratefully yours,
Anne Wilson and Grace Muro-Aje

Power Surge PTA Membership Challenge!
Being a PTA member gives you and your student a voice at Puesta del Sol!  November is the Bellevue PTSA Council's Power Surge PTA Membership Challenge!
Join the PTA  and help our PTA win a cash prize for increasing our membership this month! Members vote on issues such as programming, budget, and board members. It's a terrific way for older students to learn the value of civic engagement.

Join the PTA!  Puesta Del Sol PTA membership is open to everyone! PTA is an inclusive organization, and we invite any community members who care about healthy children and strong schools to join. In addition to voting, members also receive some incredible additional benefits, such as access to the PTA online student and family directory, and discounts at the Fed-Ex Store and at Great Wolf Lodge. Learn more about the discounts available on our PTA Member Benefits page.

WSPTA - Advocacy In Action
Now that the dust is settling after the election, and WSPTA has an updated platform of legislative priorities from Legislative Assembly in October, there are a few things you can do as a WSPTA member!
If you are interested in anything else related to advocacy and the PTA please contact Amy at [email protected]
2019 International Festival Volunteers Needed!
May 18 @ Bellevue High School Performing Arts Center

Looking for a Registrar!
Are you detailed? Can you juggle multiple tasks at one time? Do you like working behind the scenes? Have you ever planned a child's birthday party, a wedding, or a reunion? Then you have the skills we need! We are looking for an organized person who can follow detailed procedures to set up registration and create reports for our PTA after school programs.

The PTA is looking for a new Registrar and full training and ongoing support are available. The Registrar works closely with the Program Chairs of several programs, the PTA Board, and with the PTA Web Manager to make sure our student community can sign up for our awesome after school programs. This role offers full training and a current Registrar already in place to train and guide you. Contact [email protected] to inquire.
Garden Club Needs You!
planting_time.jpg
The School Garden committee is down to one parent this year, and that's not enough to run Garden Club!

Join the outdoor fun on Thursday afternoons during both second recess sessions (1:55-2:10pm and 2:10-2:25pm). We generally suspend Garden Club from mid-November through mid-March, then start back up in the spring. For more information, email Liz at [email protected].

Spotlight: Amity Interns
Your generous support helps the PTA fund 6 Amity Interns who come from Spanish-speaking countries to support our students and teachers. The interns can be found assisting our students in classroom work, small groups, individually in their area of academic need, or in our after-school reading programs. Our host families, teachers, administrators and students are quickly getting to know them and love them.

Please help us welcome Ana Frias Perez, Marta Alvarez de Cienfuegos Rojas, Laura Sanchez Perez, Gabriel Rodriguez, Pablo Anitua Diez and Natalia Villamil Tamayo

Did you know all Puesta del Sol families have the opportunity to meet the interns and learn more about this amazing program? Invite them for dinner or an outing! They all are seeking more ways to experience the Pacific Northwest and meet more students and families.

Please go to our Amity Information page to find their email addresses. You can also learn more about each Intern and our Amity program.
