The Outlets at Legends - 20 new businesses moving into the 73,240 sq ft shopping mall.
The Outlets at Legends recently announced that 20 new businesses are moving into the open-air shopping mall.

"The 295,000-sq.-ft. Scheels, complete with a Ferris wheel and archway fish tank, has been a mainstay. And, now we have some local tenants who we're really excited about," says RED Development Managing Partner Scott Rehorn.

In the past decade, Legends has seen a big transformation as the changing economy and Sparks' rapid growth has cause some rejuvenation in the Legends' and Sparks Marina area.

Along with Scheels, an IMAX movie theater, two major hotels (a Hampton Inn & Suites and Residence Inn by Marriott), and easy accessibility from the I-80 corridor have also added to the shopping center's popularity.

"Retail is still expanding- despite the negativity that's out there, more retail stores opened in the US last year than closed," says Rehorn. "We are putting in more local and regional businesses that are unique and exciting additions that will provide a great experience for locals and visitors."

Some new businesses that recently opened in the Legends complex include DEFY- an extreme Ninja Warrior-type indoor sports park, a Habit Burger, a Chik Fil-A, a 2500-sq.ft. escape room warehouse, a virtual reality center, and a Burlington Coat Factory. Local favorites such as Rocket Fizz and the Art Box at Sparks also have physical shops in Legends.

"This is the best place to shop in the region. It's a great atmosphere and there's a reason to come here every single day," Rehorn says. Admittedly not a fan of indoor malls, Rehorn and RED Development opened an Outlets at Legends in Kansas City before coming to Sparks that saw great success.

"People want quality and value in their shopping experience," says Rehorn. "Scheels is an unbelievable anchor and we have the best movie theater in the city as well," he adds.
New businesses set to move in this summer also include a AAA, Chase Bank, IMBIB Custom Brews, and Juice Box Yoga.

"We're really excited about the local craft beers and I'm very excited to have Juice Box Yoga in there- I think that (owner Tanya Bordner) hosts the best Bikram yoga in town and she will bring traffic to the shopping center; people go to her classes 5-6 times a week," Rehorn says.

With several entertainment options, outdoor sculptures, a variety of restaurants, and name brand retail stores, the Outlets at Legends continue to grow.
