Don't want to go online? Watch a short video to learn more about my shop and stop in to say "hi".
What a month it has been! I would like to start out by saying a big "thank you" to all of you for your patience while we deal with website issues. The change-over did not go as planned and we will continue to make improvements.
If you have difficulty placing an order, please call the Studio on Monday if this persists.

I made my annual trip to Spring Quilt Market, this year in Portland, Oregon, where I not only got to share my upcoming fabric collections and designs but also shop for exciting new items to carry at the Studio. And maybe the best part of the trip was being able to visit my daughter and her family who live in the Portland area.

And speaking of being on the road, I will be in Indiana at the Shipshewana Quilt Festival later this month. If you are in the area, I'd love to see you there.

On road also starting in June will be thousands of Quilters as the Row by Row Experience begins. Don't miss the details of this fun event below.

A new project, exciting quilting adventures, a quilt tip and the next clue in my Kyoto Mystery can all be found in this month's newsletter.
Midnight Garden Table Runner
Just like my Midnight Garden quilt, this table runner features strip-pieced shaded stars and surprisingly easy-to-make medallions created from fussy-cut border print fabric.
The M idnight Garden table runner comes in two colorways and measures 17" x 74".

Row by Row 2018
The 2018 Row by Row Experience kicks off June 21. Quilters around the world are invited to visit participating quilt shops to collect free "row" patterns which can then be used to create quilts based on this year's theme, "Sew Musical."
New this year is the introduction of new shapes and layouts.

Visit the Studio to pick up our free pattern based on the traditional Virginia Reel block. Named after a 17th century folk dance,  our pattern and kit has two variations. Make the classic 9" x 36" row or the Foxy Boxy 18" x 18" square.

The Row by Row Experience runs from June 21 through September 5, 2018. Visit participating shops to collect a free pattern for each shops' "row". For more information, visit their website.

Quilters' Quest Takes to the High Seas
Quilters' Quest is coming early this year, October 19-28. The theme is "Anchors Aweigh" and each shop will carry packs of 2 1/2" strips in beautiful sea glass colors. Collect the strips and use them to make a quilt from one of the free patterns you'll collect from each of the 10 shops. The toughest decision will be deciding which to make.

Leave the driving to us and hop on one of our two buses. We are currently taking reservations. For the dates and details visit our  website.

Kyoto Mystery Tip
This month's clue for the Kyoto Mystery involves paper piecing. If you ask our customers and staff, many will tell you that they learned to paper piece by following the techniques of Carol Doak and using the same products she uses.

At the Studio we carry her packs of paper which work in nearly all printers and copiers plus we can't imagine using anything but the Add-a-Quarter ruler. (This week they are featured as our Weekly Web Special.)

For a super tutorial using this technique, here's one from Carol's website.

Kyoto Mystery - Clue 3
So far you have worked with templates and bias along with incorporating border print fabrics into the body of your quilt. This month we take on paper piecing which can be confusing to some but very handy and accurate once you master the technique.

This is a free program available to just our newsletter subscribers. Each newsletter will have a link to a new clue and video lesson plus you will have access to all past clues. When you click on the link below, you will find links to clue #1 and #2 also.
