BCOM Students Earn National Recognition
Temi Ogunleye, OMS-III, and Amy Ngo, OMS-I

Two BCOM students have gained national attention. Third year student Temi Ogunleye has been selected by the Student National Medical Association as a National Future Leadership Project Fellow. First year student Amy Ngo made a video about finding work-life balance in higher education and won the 2018 CompHealth Medical School Scholarship.

SOMA Students Pass National Nutrition Resolution
Six students from BCOM's chapter of the Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA) wrote and passed a resolution advocating for increased nutritional education in medical school.

Meet Our Student Doctors of the Month
Get to know the medical students you might just meet at your next doctor's appointment. These future DOs are completing their clinical clerkships at hospitals and clinics all over New Mexico, and in Texas and Arizona.

BCOM Hosts Distinguished Speaker Series
In early November, the BCOM campus hosted the Borderplex Alliance's 2018 Distinguished Speaker Series featuring Antonia Novello, MD, 14th Surgeon General of the United States. 

Fall 2018 Community Outreach
BCOM students continue to show their commitment to the local community through seasonal outreach events like these that were held all over Las Cruces in October and November.
 
BCOMers Attend Obstetrics & Gynecology Conference
A group of third year students accompanied BCOM OB/GYN Professor Traci Groening, DO, to the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG) Fall Conference in Ft. Worth, Texas.
 
BCOM Launches Employee Giving Campaign!
BCOM kicked off the season of giving with the launch of our Employee Giving Campaign. We are so overwhelmed with the amount of interest and we are excited to be able to provide more funding for our students. Still want to sign up? It's never too late!

Burrell Students Assist at Local Cleft Palate Clinic
Nineteen medical students helped out at the Las Cruces Cleft Palate Clinic held in early November at the MECA Therapies Early Intervention Services building. This clinic is held twice per year in Las Cruces, during which cleft lip and palate patients and their families come in from all over southern New Mexico and west Texas to see an array of medical specialists.
