Projects in District 2
  • Water Meters - The City has installed 'smart' water meters throughout the City. These meters live track water usage, and allow the City to be proactive in letting residents know if they have a potential water leak identified by continuous water use for a 24-hour period, instead of waiting for an unusually high water bill. This is saving residents money, as well as preserving our resources.
  • Beach renourishment will start this fall, and will include all of Jacksonville Beach. Once complete. the City will rebuild the dune walkovers. These walkovers are designed to be three feet above the top of the dune line. There will be an ADA accessible walkover at 16th Avenue South.
  • The box culverts have recently been cleaned out in South Jacksonville Beach to help storm water flow. Approximately 4 feet of silt was removed.

  • Huguenot Tennis Courts will have an 8th court added where the current basket ball court is located.
Finally, the water tower on 3rd Street will be undergoing renovation, so don't be concerned when you see wrap placed around its base.
