COVID-19 Update and Resources
I hope everyone is staying safe and keeping busy during these unprecedented times.The General Assembly is closed until March 30 and it is safe to say the closure will be extended next week. Stay tuned for updates as they break on that front.

In light of the COVID pandemic there have been several important policy decisions made and program changes to help ride out this storm.

Tax Deadlines  – the 2019 Tax Deadline Day is now July 15 and you can also defer federal income tax payments due on April 15 to July 15 with no penalties and interest regardless of the amount owed. This applies to Colorado income tax payments as well. Make sure to consult your tax professional if you have any specific questions.

We will address the importance of selecting the metrics and factors that you need to focus on and avoid getting derailed, why you have to make decisions and then “call it,” tips for crisis communications with your staff, how to identify your resource needs, and the daily practices that you need to implement in order to adapt in an uncertain business climate.

Helen comes to the position of CCIA Executive Director with extensive non-profit management experience and expertise in global sustainability issues, cleantech, natural resource management, and stakeholder engagement. She has served as the Director of a Colorado-based research and sustainable development non-profit, Managing Editor of  The Journal of Energy and Development , and has broad business and public-sector ties at the local, national, and international level. Helen holds a M.B.A. from Rice University, a master’s degree in regional studies of the Middle East from Harvard University, and undergraduate degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles in economics and in international area studies.

US Small Business Administration COVID-19 Resources
Is your business or non-profit running short of capitol?  If so, Colorado’s state of emergency designation has unlocked access to low interest loans to help companies and non-profits meet payroll and keep the lights on.  These loans can be as low as 2.75 – 3.75%, up to $2 million and can be repaid over 30 years.  For more information check out the SBA link below:

The maker community has created an open-source compendium of manufacturing blueprints and specs for many of the critical items on state and hospital critical needs lists. The specs are housed in a Google doc that has a great deal of information and is a good source of manufacturing information for making hand sanitizer, examination gloves, negative pressure rooms, and much more.
