April is National Financial Literacy Month, which means it's time for our annual peer to peer fundraising campaign to support teens in becoming #FinanciallyFearless! This is your opportunity to spread the word about teen financial capability to your friends and colleagues. It's simple to set up your own personalized fundraising page - check out our campaign toolbox, or contact Peter at peter@securefutures.org with questions. With this campaign, small gifts make a huge impact. If 20 people you know give just $25 each, you can reach a personal fundraising goal of $500, which is enough to fund two Money Coach scholarships! Don't wait - join the campaign today!
As part of our celebration of #FinanciallyFearless teens for National Financial Literacy Month, please join us at Indeed Brewing on April 14th! As part of their "Indeed We Can" initiative, Indeed is generously donating 100% of their proceeds that day from both take-out and in person orders to SecureFutures. COVID-19 precautions are in place. All are welcome - invite your family and friends, and support teen financial empowerment!
Many thanks to the Racine Journal Times for featuring SecureFutures volunteer Vince Tortorici and the impact of our programs in the Racine area! Check out the full article here.
“So much of an adult’s financial health is based on decisions they made when they were young...Every high school student should go through a course like this."

Money Coach students meet with the Cabinet Secretary of WI DFI
It was an honor to have Kathy Blumenfeld, Cabinet Secretary for the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, join some of our Money Coach students for a virtual conversation. Constance, Lee, Panda, Alayah, and Catrell shared how financial education through Money Coach has impacted their lives, and Secretary Blumenfeld shared her own financial journey, from studying accounting in college to her current role in state government. The teens also each had an opportunity to give Secretary Blumenfeld a message for Governor Tony Evers about how they'd like to see Wisconsin move forward as a place where all can succeed and thrive. Secretary Blumenfeld, thank you so much for sharing your time with us, and for your commitment to financial capability for young people!

As we continue to expand Money Path statewide, the app has reached a total of 4,389 teens in 2020-2021 so far! Take a look at our new map tracker showing where Money Path is being used throughout Wisconsin. Also, check out this great article on Money Path from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, including thoughts from educators who have experienced the program's impact first-hand!
