What is Match Play May?

It's an opportunity to play and practice Match Play, just for fun. No one will be keeping track of results, just have fun and enjoy some matches!

On any of these event days, you can practice your Match Play skills, and learn more about Match Play. We'll arrange practice matches for you. OR... you can simply play for FUN on any of these play days – you'll indicate your choice during registration.
New to Match Play?

The May 1st play day will have an "Intro to Match Play Meeting" from 8:30am-9:30am for those who are wanting to learn about Match Play.

Still not sure? Tell your opponent you're new to Match Play, and let them help you learn while you play.
So, what's next?

During June and July we'll have qualifying events (held during our play days) to form our 2021 Lone Star Cup Team.

Brenda Stoddard, our Chapter's Director of Member Services, will be Captaining the 2021 team.

Throughout June and July, members can compete in 4 qualifying events to determine the 12 players and 2 alternates for the September event in Houston. Players of ALL HANDICAPS are needed for the team – actual matches will be played against players with similar handicaps, so this is a great tournament for everyone!

What is the Lone Star Cup (LSC)?

The LSC tournament will be held
September 25 & 26
at the Golf Club of Houston.

The LSC is a match play tournament among the LPGA Amateur Golf Association chapters from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.

It is a two-day event modeled after the Solheim Cup.
Day 1 of the tournament is team match play (four-ball or alternate shots) while Day 2 is singles match play. This tournament travels between chapters and this year we are being hosted by the Houston Chapter. The Dallas LSC Team will have 12 players and 2 alternates.

Here's what is expected of you:

Available to play in Houston September 24 - 26 (24th will be a practice day)

Estimated expenses for the event:
$290 Registration Fee
(includes welcome dinner, lunches and awards banquet)
$99 Practice Round
PLUS Travel, and Hotel expenses
PLUS 2 Team shirts
