DCASE is excited to announce a new series of Professional Development workshops and events. The program aims to support Chicago's creative community and connect emerging artists to the City of Chicago's most visible festivals, events and cultural programming.

Opportunities for Individual Artists
Applications Due December 14

Chicago-based artists and organizations are invited to submit proposals to participate in the 2019 season of Night Out In the Parks, with the Year of Chicago Theatre as a featured theme! Supported by the City of Chicago and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, the Chicago Park District's Night Out in the Parks annually brings more than 2,000 culture and arts focused events for community-building opportunities in neighborhood parks across Chicago. Opportunities for Arts Organizations and Businesses
Applications Due December 12
DCASE is pleased to announce a new opportunity for arts organizations to apply to bring a performance, program or event to the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. The application is now open and the deadline is December 12, 2018 at 5pm CST. Please visit ChicagoCulturalGrants.org to apply and to RSVP to attend a roundtable discussion to learn more about the program.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) have designated 2018 as the "Year of Creative Youth", a citywide initiative to celebrate Chicago youth in the arts and the mentors who inspire them. The Year of Creative Youth website includes resources and event highlights from across Chicago's youth arts community. Youth arts organizations are invited to submit youth performances, events or opportunities occurring in Chicago for the website or other channels. Join DCASE and Chicago Food Policy Action Council at the 14th Annual Chicago Food Policy Summit, and connect with food workers, farmers, vendors, and local leaders to discuss food policy and critical issues involving climate change, labor, food access, urban farming and the economics of food production in Chicago, Cook County and Illinois. This event is a culmination of the past year's of food justice efforts and accomplishments, including Cook County's adoption of the Good Food Purchasing Policy, and an opportunity for us to collectively imagine how we can transform food the system to support health and equity for all. The day will consist of workshops, speakers, hand-ons on activities, food demos, a marketplace of resources and vendors, and a Food Business Clinic.
