During the COVID-19 crisis, the Arts Council will be compiling resources for artists and organizations who are experiencing personal or business losses due to the economic impact of the pandemic. Coronavirus Relief Fund for Arts Nonprofits
On April 8, 2021, Governor Phil Murphy signed into law S-3251, which provides $15 million in federal COVID-19 relief aid for arts and culture venues throughout New Jersey. This week, the Council will release the guidelines and application for nonprofit arts organizations. Council staff will be hosting a series of Open Office Hours to provide technical assistance, starting with a session to be open this Friday, May 28, 2021.

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority has announced that New Jersey businesses with 100 or fewer full-time equivalent employees (FTEs) will be able to receive discounts of nearly 70 percent off purchases of personal protective equipment (PPE) through the NJ Small and Micro Business PPE Access Program until May 28, 2021 or until program funds are exhausted.

This webinar will discuss findings from the 2020 Profile of Local Arts Agencies, AFTA's annual survey of the LAA field. Conducted during the fall of 2020, the findings provide a first look at how LAAs have been impacted by, and are responding to, the pandemic. In this webinar, Randy Cohen, Vice President of Research at Americans for the Arts, discusses the budgets, programs, and operations of the nation’s local arts agencies and shares the updated interactive LAA Dashboard and online tools.

The Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies experienced by artists in the past six months.
Cycle 8 will open on Tuesday, June 8, and close on Tuesday, June 29, for emergencies occurring November 1, 2020 and later.

Americans for the Arts seeks 250 partner organizations to participate in AEP6, their sixth national economic impact study of America’s nonprofit arts and cultural industry.
Contracts must be completed by September 30, 2021.
Data collection begins on January 1, 2022.
Final reports will be delivered by May 31, 2023.
All national, statewide, and local findings will be released in June 2023.

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts, created in 1966, is a division of the NJ Department of State. The Council was established to encourage and foster public interest in the arts; enlarge public and private resources devoted to the arts; promote freedom of expression in the arts; and facilitate the inclusion of art in every public building in New Jersey. The Council receives direct appropriations from the State of New Jersey through a dedicated, renewable Hotel/Motel Occupancy fee, as well as competitive grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.
