New Camp Ministry Committee: 
SUMMER CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

We have dreamed of achieving a level of sustainability in camp ministry that would allow all campers to attend camp at a very low cost. The PSWR and so many individuals have been tremendously generous in helping move us closer to achieving this dream. However, as expected, the operational costs of camp continue to rise each year. Likewise, the need for scholarship monies also increases as more folks attend camp.   Continue reading

Camp Leadership Training

The Camp Ministry Committee is so excited for summer camp and we are currently looking for volunteers!  Whether you are returning as a volunteer or you've never been to camp, The Camp Ministry Committee wants to prepare you to serv e well by providing top notch volunteer training. Our Camp Leadership Training will take place on Saturday, June 8th at Loch Leven Camp and Conference Center with guest camp expert, Jim Cain. We will cover the camp basics as well as empower you with the tools and resources to be prepared for camp in a leadership role. Global Service Projects: Midwest to the East Coast

This Year, we are sending several select youth to participate in the Duke Youth Academy at Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina.
.. and over 200 youth will gather at our General Assembly in 
Des Moines, Iowa. These projects will engage young people in leadership training, Disciples' Identity, Hospitality, and Service Projects for homeless youth. They will return to the PSWR with skills, experiences, and stories to share about their faith and the work of the broader Church. Please join us in praying for these young folks as we finalize trip details and programming. We are grateful to our Regional Church (that means you!) for the support and love given to make these amazing projects possible!

Volunteers Needed at All Peoples Community Center

We need your help to bring play to kids in South L.A. - Vernon-Central!  On Thursday, June 20, 2019 volunteers from All Peoples Community Center and Warner Music Group, in partnership with KaBOOM!, will build a great new place for kids to play in ONE day. Clergy Captions

Rae Karim has been called as Senior Pastor of First Christian Church, Honolulu in Honolulu, HI.

Rip Rippetoe  was ordained on Saturday, June 1st at Pacific Beach Christian Church in San Diego. Rip was installed on June 2nd at Pacific Beach Christian Church during their morning service.

Deborah Rice was ordained on June 2nd at Harbor Christian Church in Newport Beach.
 
Cisa Payuyo  will be ordained on Sunday, June 9th at Chapman University's Fish Interfaith Center, the ordination service will begin at 4:00 p.m.

VeAnn Clark will be ordained on June 9th at Church of the Valley in Van Nuys during the morning service, the ordination service will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Dr. Joi Robinson will be  ordained on Saturday, J une 29th, 11:00 a.m.  at Abundant Life Christian  Church.

Rev. Mitch Becker, pastor of First Christian Church, Antelope Valley, announced his retirement as of June 30, 2019.

Rev. Richard Kurrasch, Interim pastor of First Christian Church, Morro Bay, announced his retirement as of June 30, 2019.

Rev. Spencer Burke will complete his time as Founder/Director of HatcheryLA, a ministry of the PSWR, June 30, 2019.

Rev. Dr. Jose Morales has been called to the position of Assistant Professor of Comparative Religion and Philosophy for Claremont School of Theology.

Rev. Frank Hamilton, pastor of First Christian Church, Ontario, announced his retirement as of July 1, 2019.

Rev. Dan Moore has completed his time as pastor of Clairemont Christian Church. 
 
Rev. Fred Schaeffer has completed his time as Interim pastor for First Christian Church, Hemet.

Congratulations to  Al LopezNora Jacob and  Stephen Patten in receiving the 2019 Distinguished Alums award for their collaborative ministry at UrbanMission in Pomona, on May 20th at Claremont School of Theology!
