Dear Friends,

Founded in 1830, Catholic Charities has been providing direct, critical care human services for 190 years. Our scope of work within the community has changed throughout the years, but our focus remains on helping those who are the most vulnerable among us. Even as we celebrate this 190th anniversary milestone, the need in our community grows daily.

For our clients, there is little room for celebration as they face the stress and turmoil of everyday life. Catholic Charities clients come to us year-round, looking for help in beginning that new chapter in their life. Struggling with problems that seem insurmountable - they come to us  for help and hope.

Clients like  Rita*, who has fallen behind on her rent from being unable to work, because of her husband's illness. Or  Maria and her children, who had to find new housing because of her abusive spouse. Perhaps like  Tyrone*, who is dealing with a period of depression or anxiety, and needed a way to find joy in his life again.  John* needed help keeping nutritious food on his table because a reduction in his work hours, left him without enough income to meet basic living expenses for him and his family.

Behavioral Health Services

Families whose children who are experiencing behavioral or emotional problems, may benefit
from participating in Catholic Charities' Behavioral Health Services Program. The program works with children, teens and their families to find ways
to address presenting problems to improve quality of life for the entire family. Appointments are available by safe, remote video-link. The program accepts most insurance plans, and can provide a self-pay sliding fee scale for clients who are under- or uninsured.

To make an appointment, please call the Catholic Charities office nearest you. In New Castle County, call 302-655-9624; in Kent County, call 302-674-1600; in Sussex County, call 302-856-9578, in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore, call 410-651-9608.

Catholic Charities USA Coordinates Large Delivery
of Shredded Cheese Donation

Thanks to Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA), an impressive 2,100 lbs. of cheese was donated to Catholic Charities by a Wisconsin member of the Dairy Pricing Association; a grassroots dairy farmer organization. CCUSA coordinated the effort by referring the donation to our office and then paying for the cheese to be processed into 1lb. bags of shredded cheese. Flexport, a freight forwarder, donated transit costs to transport the cheese to New Jersey for processing, and then for delivery to Catholic Charities Seton Center, in Princess Anne, MD.  
 
Catholic Charities would like to thank CCUSA, Dairy Pricing Association and Flexport, for their generous donations. In doing so, they have helped Catholic Charities continue to serve over 8,600 individuals and families in our community annually, requiring food assistance.
