Share Your Reflections with Your Parish Family via Video
Dear Friends,
Patrick Rooney, our Vestry Chair of Communications, and I would love to hear from you and your family! The idea is that the
videos we are now sending out to the parish from staff will continue into the future--and
you all
will provide the content. This is a way for us to be the church, to stay connected to each other, and to let us know how you're doing in the midst of this current hiatus. The subject matter can be of your choosing--your thoughts, what you miss about being in church together, a poem, or just a 'shout out' from your family to your church family. Be creative. Parents, your kids are likely well versed in this and can no doubt provide excellent leadership!!
The important thing is that everyone does one and that it's no more than two minutes long.
Patrick has provided information below about how to shoot the videos at home and send them to him.
Roll Cameras,
Christopher
Suggestions for Recording Video
Lighting: position a lamp with at least 60w soft white bulb behind your device. Evenbetter is having one on either side, but the very least is one behind the camera. This will illuminate your face and eliminate dark shadows or a dark, murky profile.
Sound: if you have ear buds, use them. Otherwise, be close enough to your device so your full voice is captured. Avoid large or cavernous rooms that may cause an echo. Of course, if you have a professional microphone please feel free to use that!
Positioning: position yourself about 3 feet away from the device with the frame starting just below the shoulders. Too close and your head will fill the frame, and too far you'll look, well, too far. Prop your device on something at eye level. If you're sitting, an easy fix is to stack books or use a box. Be sure to use something heavier than your device as a back stop to lean against.
Sending video file: there are a number of options to send the file. You can upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive and send the link to
[email protected]. You can also use a file transfer provider such as
https://wetransfer.com/ and send to the same email (it's free to send files up to 2GB, but you will see ads).
God didn't create the world in a day, so give yourself a break and record as many 'takes' as you like. Only you will know the final tally!
Thank you for sharing!

Friends in Faith Will Meet Via Zoom Mondays at 10:00AM
The Friends in Faith are meeting at our usual time on Mondays from 10:00AM to 11:00AM via Zoom.
We want the congregation to know that anyone is welcome to join us! We follow a format of praying for people on the parish prayer list out loud together, then we share in ten minutes of silent prayer or meditation, and then one of us leads the group in a discussion of something they have brought to share with the group, usually of a spiritual nature.
If you are interested in joining us, please email
Elizabeth Clemmitt so she can include you in the Zoom invitation.

A Just Harvest -
Needs Your Help
Saturday, March 28
Due to COVID-19, A Just Harvest is no longer having volunteers serve meals in their dining room. Instead AJH staff are cooking meals FROM THE INGREDIENTS AND RECIPES THAT WE PROVIDE AND SERVING "TO GO" AT LUNCHTIME. Please continue to sign up on Sign Up Genius to "cook" (provide ingredients) and to provide salad, fruit and BOTTLED WATER, JUICE BOXES/"JUICE" DRINKS INSTEAD OF MILK.
We will still need to
deliver the ingredients to AJH at least 24 hours in advance so that they can prepare the meals. We will need at least one person to volunteer to transport food contributions to AJH. That person will need to call AJH kitchen at 773-262-1766 before delivery and deliver between 9AM and 3PM.
