From the JVA Office: The Recruiting Battle Before, During and After Tryouts
Imagine this scenario... A high school coach pressures a family to switch clubs. Or an opposing director recruits an athlete's family in the stands after being told the athlete plays for a different club. Or an opposing coach has one of her current players approach a high school teammate for her. Sound familiar? The JVA office receives numerous calls and emails in reference to clubs "stealing players", illegally recruiting and how to handle it. Let's dive in.
The first contact in volleyball, the pass, is by far the most critical if a team is striving to play at a high level. There are 3 common bad passing habits that will hinder an athlete's ability to pass consistently to the target. Here are drills that JVA member KIVA (Louisville, KY) uses to teach their athletes to master the skill of passing.
