Digital Citizenship Assembly and Parent Night - April 15th
Last week, 20 students from Memorial and Shore Middle Schools participated in a webinar with Josh Ochs to learn about how to build their own website and begin to brand who they are. All of our middle school students will hear about these online resumes/websites at Josh's assembly at each school on April 15th. He will also show students how social media can be used to create a positive resume of accomplishments.
Are your children on Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, or other social media platforms? If they are, attend this parent night to learn how to maximize their potential and use these tools in a positive way. As parents we are always searching for ways to keep our students safe. This presentation will give parents a proactive way to start a dialogue with their kids about being smart while using a wide variety of social media. Josh will present at Paradigm on April 15th from 7:00-8:30 PM.
Brightbytes
Survey
For the past five years, Mentor Schools has surveyed staff, students and parents around technology use in the district using Brightbytes. We have used this data to make informed decisions around instructional practices and support our implementation of 1:1 devices. This survey has also allowed us to monitor the many ways teaching and learning is occurring in our schools. This past year we used information from our Brightbytes survey to add Digital Citizenship lessons at all grade levels and begin this monthly communication with our parents. You will be receiving an email in the middle of April with a link to this Brightbytes survey. Please take five minutes to complete this survey as this helps drive many decisions our district is making around our technology use.
