"Turkey Trouble" last week!
Friends,

We give thanks to God, for all of life is a gift. We recognize that this season can also be difficult for many in our community and city. We pray for our friends and family, in joy and in pain may the grace of God be near to all.
In December we will celebrate Advent, Christmas and many important ministries in the life of our church. So much beauty and joy fills the work of our community. We will vote on our 2019 budget and new nominees for our Vision and Leadership Team. I want you to know that we have received many names and resumes regarding positions on our staff including, Associate Pastor for Discipleship and Communication and Youth Minister. These are both important parts of our church and members of our team. We continue to seek wisdom and direction from God, and we ask for your prayer as well. Updates will come as we progress.
Finally, I am thankful for you and our church. A pastor is not a church. A building with a steeple or even with a fish in the roof is not a church. The church is the people. Your heart and sacrifice and grace and smile— all of this gives me hope.
May the Peace of Christ be with you,
Jake Maxwell, Pastor

Why I Go To The Adult Retreat.

Every organization I join has a bonus that comes with involvement. The bonus the Adult Retreat presents is the development or deepening of relationships during that weekend.  For 28 years Dee Dee and I chose not to attend due to our busy schedules, cost, childcare concerns, and fear of a less than relaxing time. All of these obstacles became mute when we attended our first retreat. Speakers have been entertaining , informative, funny, motivating and challenging; as have many of us when we converge on Santa Fe for frolic, fun and reflection. Come join us.
