From the desk of our
S.T.E.A.M. Lab
T
his week in STEAM we continued to work on our fall unit. We talked about how we are starting to see a lot of squirrels running around. We practiced our color recognition by seeing and naming the different colors of squirrels. We learned that they can live in trees and that they are busy gathering acorns to hide for the winter. We helped squirrels find acorns. We practiced our shape recognition by helping different shaped squirrels find their matching shaped acorns, used paint and acorns to help a jumbo squirrel catch its acorns, used our pincer grip to feed a hungry squirrel small acorns, and made it rain by squeezing water onto a cotton-ball cloud.
