SCSBOA Field Show Championships!!

YOU GUYS!!!
You did it! Not only did the fightin'
Samohi Viking Marching Band make it to the championships again this year, but it earned a
2nd place standing going in —
our very best yet. This is an historic win for the band, and it's all due to the incredible amount of work put in by our kids and our coaches and of course our fearless leader, Kevin McKeown! So celebrate, relax, enjoy this momentous victory — and get ready to kick some 4A butt this Saturday!

Important: Rehearsal Schedule Change
Because of a field conflict,
Friday night's practice will be from 7-10 p.m. Please make sure your student gets a good dinner beforehand — it's a long day.
Seniors only: You are invited to a special
pre-rehearsal dinner at El Texate at 4:15 pm, hosted by Mr. McKeown, to celebrate "our little Bohemians."
If you come around 9:30 pm, you will see our last Friday run and a special performance for the seniors. Not to be missed!

Where Is the Tournament?
The
SCSBOA Field Show Championships
will be held at
Downey High School,
11040 Brookshire Ave, Downey, CA 90241.
Driving time depends on traffic, but it should take about an hour to an hour and a half to get there.
Important Times for Saturday
- 9:45 am: Call time at Samohi
- 8:28 pm: Vikings' showtime at Downey High School
- Plan to arrive at least 30-45 minutes beforehand to allow for parking and seating. Entry is only allowed between each performance.
- 9:45 pm: Awards
- 11:30 pm: Pickup at Samohi, once truck is unloaded

Supplies are limited; some sizes/styles may not be available at the tournament site.

For Students: What to Bring
- Water in a reusable container
- Your Dinkles (PLEASE clean with 409 or Fantastic!)
- Black socks (white socks for Front Ensemble)
- Royal blue practice shirt and shorts/leggings
- A packed lunch to eat at Samohi, snacks for later, and money for concessions. Dinner is served at competitions.
- School work and reading books for downtime
- Warm clothes to change into after your performance
For Parents: What to Do
- Drive out to cheer at the competition on Saturday. The top 12 4A bands start at 6 pm; our kids' show time is 8:28 pm. Entrance is $10/person.
- Cheer with your Viking Parents Tribe! Jump into the rabbit hole of Wonderland t-shirts in the stands!
